To ride a moped (i.e a automatic or geared road legal two-wheeler not exceeding 30mph or 49cc) you must be 16 or over holding a provisional driving license and have sat your CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) which is a course that usually lasts about a day and is designed to make sure you are safe on the road costs around £100 including bike hire.

To ride up to a 125 automatic or manual 2 wheeler i.e motorcycle or scooter you must be over 17 then same as above.

Please note with CBT it lasts 2 years after which you can redo if you not want to sit a test you cannot carry a passenger or go on the motorway. You must also display L plates.

For anything above 125cc you would have to sit motorcycle theory test and a practical test.

PS Check you have the category A provisional entitlement on your license before going for your CBT or they cant take you out on the road!! If you've not got it you can just send your license away to be amended.

You also need insurance to ride on the road try Lexham Insurance on 08456050546 for a good quote.

For a scooter less than 50cc, you can ride it on a car licence.
To ride a biggun' (some scooters are 600cc plus) you will need a full motorcycle licence.

confident. you will might desire to get carry of a LCV (gentle commercial motor vehicle) license for a automobile. So, its continually greater effective to get a LCV license once you purchase a 2 wheeler, of-direction via training your self and passing the fundamental attempt. do not difficulty get it now. besides the incontrovertible fact that, while you're making plans to purchase a truck or bus , decide for a HCV (heavy commercial motor vehicle). forget approximately, i'm purely joking.
