with other problems. I was then referred to the most wonderful pain management doctor. He has tried everything from 45 lsb's 1 rftc, lyrica, cymbalta, you name it. I just completed a trial for a spine cord stimulator and it made me very nervous. The jury is still out on the scs. Anyone got any other ideas. Has anyone received disability? My employer sent me for a fitness for duty exam which was strictly psychological. I am to the point after 27 years at the same job I can retire however I do not want to jump the gun.

I believe that you can receive disability from your RSD. What made your nervous about the SCS? Have you tried Ketamine treatments, epidural catheters etc? You can get some more information about other treatments for RSD at www.rsds.org I have an SCS for my RSD, and it has helped me tremendously. Good luck!

Yes you can receive disability from social security. I have RSD also and it took a while to get on disability but eventually you'll get on. I don't know how your going to be able to keep working with everything you have going on. Maybe its time to stop working and relax and just take care of yourself. If you get on SSDI at least you'll have money every month. Have you contacted a lawyer about the unnecessary surgeries? How did that happen? Someone made a bad diagnoisis and now you have RSD for the rest of your life. Not fair. I've had RSD now for almost 9 years and in the begining my pain management doctor tried everything. All kinds of different meds and therapys and it all got to be too much.. Mine was a court case so I had to go through everything that they wanted me to do. Well after about 2 years of this, I felt sicker than when I started due to the many medications. I had a long talk with my doctor and he basically told me there is no cure for this, and all these things that they were doing, ganglin blocks, were just temporary. Since then I've just been on percocet 5 times a day and I do some yoga and pilates and walking and I find that I'm so much better. All the different drugs made my head cloudy and I always felt dizzy and sick to my stomach. You have to find what works best for you. The doctors aren't experiencing what you are, so you have to speak up and tell them what you feel is best for you. I wish you good luck and better health.

You Can receive disability and social security from this type of condition. as many problems as you are experiencing it's going to be hard to continue working. You're going to have to really evaluate the pros and cons of retirement.

I wish I had an answer for you about what to do for your health. I also have RSD. I have deep tissue massage therapy three times a week. This really helps me keep going. It works better for me then any medication.

Why not try massage therapy? This might help. I'm sure your pain management doctor would know a qualified massage therapist.
