Having said that, the over all answer is application of Bible principles in family life. The Greeks had four words for love. They recognized there were different types of love. Just friends, romantic, family, and principled love. All four come into play in a family and is most important to exercise to become stronger.

Any organization has a chain of command that brings comfort and sense of security. The Bible names a husband as head of the family, his wife as help-mate, and children insubjection and respect for parents. The model for this is Jesus with his "bride" of followers. As he is responsible to his father, Jehovah, a husband is answerable to Jesus for his conduct with his family.

Jesus always kept the welfare of his people foremost. He made arrangements for their care even when he wasn't physically there. Husbands must care for their families the same way. They must treat their wives as a "weaker vessel". That doesn't mean women are weaker. It means treating as precious, valuable, with deep respect like fine china.

Wives must show respect for their husbands. Respect for your opinions and judgements by husbands is proper. Final decisions for the family should be with husbands. Have you not seen kids , who can't get the answer from one parent, play off the other till they get their way? Such kids have no respect for either parent.

The best thing anyone can do for their family is to put God's Kingdom first in the family's life. The husband developes respect for himself and love for his family. The wife respects her husband. Kids honor and obey parents.

I could find out that I still have some living family. The last was my sister, and I have not heard from her in years. The last time I tried to call her, the number was disconnected and Information did not have a new listing. I literally do not know if she is dead or alive.

i personally don't think i need to. our family is very happy and healthy. we're very fortunate, but it's always good to reevaluate every so often
