Believing in a God that pays attention to you (and, impossibly, everyone) and your doings can lead to feeling targeted. It is human nature to focus on the negative, and when lots of bad things happen to them someone like that can feel as if they've dipleased their god, and now they're causing havoc in their lives. This can also eventually lead to a faith crisis, as they decide whether they want to follow or believe in a god that hates them or allows such things to happen.

A potential problem lies in the fact that God is Spirit, so we can fall into the trap of thinking he is somewhat like us. The Person of God, however, is also Triune, which is a mighty clue as to the complex nature of personality and personhood. Perhaps that's why the Bible tells us we are comprised of body, soul and spirit - we are tripartate. The relationship aspect of the Trinity, when thought about, helps keep us off the rocks with our imperfect notions of "a Personal God".
For those who don't begin to grasp the nature of our God, he isn't personal in order to do us mere mortals any favors. We exist to glorify him. When we do that, we certainly 'enjoy' him and feel fulfilled and his blessings are experienced. Yet never should we forget that we are his creatures, and he is the Creator.

Well there is a difference in believing and knowing, and that's the only problem I can see.To know God is the only way to have a personal relationship with him.
I do know him and he knows me, so I have no problems.

Whether you have problems with it or not, God IS personal. I think people run from him as a result of laziness and fear. They are scared of a God who will judge them, and even of a God who loves them, because they know that he will cause huge changes in their lives.
And I think 'hometwnhero' is a hero! I gave him a thumbs up for an answer that really touched me and made me feel guilty for sounding so judgmental...

If God isn't personal, then that makes christianity in all forms a lie. God and I have a personal relationship and I benefit regularly from it. Although I do read my bible often, it's not a requirement for Him to speak to me to have my bible open for even on my mind.

It depends on what you mean by "personal." If you mean a God that does what each of us believes is personally correct...then there is a lot wrong with that. God is not made in our image but we in his.
If you mean a God that has an intimate and personal relationship with us...nothing is wrong with that because it is true. He loves and desires each of us.
