Hi there,

This question is open to only those who despise Islam.
Only serious and truthful responses please. This is not a brutal interrogation on my part, but a sincere query.

a) How did you come to know about Islam?
In other words, what are your sources of information on Islam?
[for examples: media, mouth of people, Muslim friends etc.]

b) What are your reasons for being resentful towards Islam?

c) Did September the 11th, 2001, make any impact on your impressions towards Islam?
In other words, what was your understanding of AND curiosity towards Islam *before* and *after* the September 11th, 2001?
Did it change a great deal? In what ways?

d) Did you ever read a Quran? Which translation and edition?

Your candid response is greatly appreciated! Thanking you in advance.

Sorry, I don't fit into your desired response category. But I am a Christian, have been for over 40 years, and I do not despise Islam. Or any other religion for that matter. I have always followed the rule that it's not my place to pass judgment upon anyone, whether or not I follow their beliefs.

I do believe that September 11th, and other recent events involving Muslims or the Islamic religion have negatively impacted some people. I have met people who do not like Muslims, because of their belief that Islam is a religion based around harming others. In a way I think it's fear that drives these feelings. I know their opinion is unfair, but the best you can do when you meet someone like that; is try and educate them about the good points of Islam. If you follow it yourself, it would be a good experience to them that most Islamic followers are pretty much the same as they are.

Why do I despise Islam....I will try and honestly answer your questions:
a. All I know about Islamd I learned from 9-11 ! any religion that advocates the killing of 4,000 innocent people by hi-jacking a plane and flying into the World Trade Center are nothing but, a bunch of crazed fanatics.

b. My reasons are as cited above and due to the fact that no musliums are condeming, all their crazy extremists from all the car bombings, road side bombings and whole sale killing of not only our troops but, their own citizens. I would think that the citizens or iraq would have enough of this insanity and take out the extremists themselves.

c. You darn right it did ! this was a happy nation before 9-11 now we can barely afford to live, thanks to the gasoline prices, and everyday food items, energy, medical treatments, travel. everything is screwed up thanks to these crazed idiots.

yes it changed me, seeing our troops killed daily by cowardly bombers, not enough guts to stand and fight like a man, got to hide in their mosques and set off road side bombs, snipers and car bombs, Damn Cowards all of them !

They should be nuked until they glow ! all they understand is killing, blood and terrior.

d. No I've never read the Quran and have no desire to read it either! Any religion that advocates the whole sale killing and terrior of innocents gets no respect from this writer. The true Muslims and leaders of Islam should be shouting to the heaven, with outrage that their religion is being used as an instrument of terrior and mass murder.. but, we don't see that do we? Their silence is deafening, which equates to silent support of the murdering cowardly terriosts.

It's just that simple!

Despise is a bit strong, I see it for what it is. Sept. 11th, yes, and the response of pretty much silence on the part of american muslims has shown me something also...I think they ALL have the capability to attack. Sources are my own reading of their book, and several interviews from former muslim terrorists I have seen and read. The knowledge that there is a plan for world dominance has been found out, it's no secret. They're just not organized enough yet. Hopefully they never will be.

If Islam ever hope to be considered a viable mainstream religion they must repeatly renounce those that are giving the islamic faith a bad image. I keep hearing that true islam is not a bad religion, however, what are they doing to improve the image? To be quite honest I am not a big fan of any organized religions. They all have their drawbacks; including the fact that most of the "popular" USA religions are more interested in the almight dollar than the spiritual well being of their flock.

This is a fair question.
First I can only speak for myself. After September 11th, I honestly tried to keep an open mind about Islam. I believed that the attackers were an aberration and not representative of Islam in general. When I saw videos of the celebrations in Palestine cheering about 9-11 I was disappointed but I believed it was a minority and since there were many more Islamic demonstrations of support, I didn’t condemn the religion. What really finally drove me to disgust was the reaction to the Mohamed cartoons. Violence and threats so severe that countries had to respond and beg forgiveness. Jesus has been in silly cartoons all my life and we deal. If a group universally uses extreme violence as the first reaction to any challenge or question then it is dangerous. I want to believe that Islam is peaceful but every bomb in Iraq, every threat, every beheading makes that harder to believe. If there is any group in the world that should be pulling out every stop to eradicate Islamic terrorist then it is Islam. If they do nothing to stop it, sometimes support it, and often try to justify it then why should I believe they are peaceful?

I wouldnt say despise....that is harsh, though people tend to dislike the unfamiliar.
Plus, Islam isnt a religion that gets a lot of good press. People can take stereotypes of them all being terrorist or angry. I see sometimes the way their women are treated, makes me wonder how this would appeal to anyone. Then again, I have no idea about the basic fundamentals. I know a man in my english class who is muslim and takes our class breaks to pray. I admire him for that.

I don't have anything against Islam. I believe it is false, but so are a lot of religions. I certainly don't "hate" it's practice. I have a big problem however, with extremists in ANY religion, and Islam does seem to have more than it's share these days. As for the Quran I haven't read much of it and probably won't. I know fully well there are plenty of peaceful muslims in the world.

Have no despise for the religion, actually i live in an islamic state, and they are respectable. i even studies in high school and still studying islamic history, maybe i dont agree with everything because its somehow different in my religion, and we have different point of views, but they are people like u and me, just the religion is different. people shouldnt despise other religions or race without knowing them, or read about them, and the best way to do that, is to meet one, and you will realise that they are human beings , we all are!

not necessarily despise but there are a not good things that people under Islam do in honor of their religion. Say, Suicide bombers in the name of Jihad? men allowed to have several wives but women not allowed to have several husbands? seems like unfair. and imposing the muslim religion to a person who wants to be a Jew or a Buddhist?

Muslims believe in the One, Unique, Incomparable, Merciful God - the Sole Creator and Sustainer of the Universe; in the Angels created by Him; in the Prophets through whom His revelations were brought to humankind; in the Day of Judgment and in individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over destiny, be it good or bad; and in life after death. Muslims believe that God sent His messengers and prophets to all people and God's final message to humanity, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing up of all that had gone before, was revealed to the Last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the Archangel Gabriel.
