yes. sugar free candy is good. i am not a diabetic, but i still LOVE double d sugar free candy. Its got three flavours and you can suck on it so it lasts longer than a chewing one, so you won't eat as much. You can get it from places like coles etc.

Unfortunately, sugar free candy really doesn't measure up to the real stuff and if you eat too much, it can sometimes give you diarrhea. If you could go on an Insulin Pump, you can eat whatever you want by programming in the extra carbohydrates. I went on a pump 3 yrs ago, eat some Chocolate or other candy every day and my AICs are 5.0 - 5.9. Ask your doctor if it's right for you.

You dont mention if you are type 1 or 2. any how there are some candies for diabetes the sugar of which is different .you should always prevent hipo but a tight and good cotrol of diabetes may cause sometimes unwanted hipo.in this case you could take candy to normalize your blood sugar.
Another way is according to the carb you eat you can take aspart or lispro insulin.but if you are type 1 diabetes.

Yes there are sugar free candies and chocolate, but caution, some of the sugar substitutes act as a diaretic if you eat to much, my system is sensitive to that, I learned this the hard way, missed the big bold letters saying that somehow and went all out.

Me too, I have a very hard time controlling myself and substituting candy for foods I can eat...
Sugar-free candy is made with sugar alcohol and will raise blood sugar levels if you eat a bag of the candies..the way I like to do..

I eat pork rines and homemade salsa for the "crunchy" feel when I crave chips, nuts, fresh veggies and homemade dips and frozen grapes but need to do it all in moderation. I can eat 500 calories in nuts and that adds fat which sabotages weight loss which is needed for controling blood sugar...vicious circle!!!.

you have to change your "state of mind" to think that candy is poision to you. You would not eat poison if you craved it or not. There are lots of sugar free candies out there, but again you have to limit them... the carbs are VERY high.... take a walk when you have the cravings!
Good Luck!
