The problem is most of the hindus do not know what hinduism is. For them books and rituals are more important than direct experience

Shri Krishna said in geeta that all varnas are fit for enlightenment

Shri Ram ate fruits half eaten by Shabri, the shudra....to prove god's love for all

casteism is a social evil... and now government of India is practicing it by giving reservations

Society can not be changed so early... I think economic development will eradicate many of social evils

I personally dont go to any temple, which forbids shudras or women to enter.,...foreigners is ok ...the have no right to enter a temple if he is not hindu.

And dont worry for hinduism being taken over by other religions... hinduism did not vanish after attacks by muslims and christians... even slavery of 100s of years could not finish hinduism

Truth does not die... even if there is no hindu left on earth... hinduism will remain

Hinduism is at least 8,000 years old. Our religion has survived for so many millenia, why would it begin to fade now? Even the Untouchables can still worship the Lord, be a true devotee, and pass this way of life on. Going to mandir does not make you a Hindu, reading a sacred text does not make you a Hindu. A Hindu is someone who is a true devotee in every sense of the word, connecting with the Lord spiritually.

You don't hear of Hindu missionaries really, but our religion is still being passed on, still kept strong. Its more than religion, its a way of life. Our religion is not organized and it is a very open religion. Personally, I believe Hinduism has withstood so many invasions and so many other worldly events, and it will continue to withstand time. When all the other religions fade, Hinduism will still be strong.

The mandir I go to, we don't even talk about castes or anything like that. Not all Hindus still practice that old tradition. All non-Hindus are welcome into our mandir as well.

See, this untouchability, prohibition for the widows, dalits, dogs & all have been abolished years before. I don't understand why they are doing so. This is actually a prohibition for the growth of Hinduism.

The International Society for Krishna CONsciousness (ISKCON) is helping a lot in the progress of Hinduism. The following things which you said were right but how can we help if they don't consider. Apart from ISKCON, H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Ramkrishna Mission & Sant shri asaramji bapu is helping for the good of hinduism.

The people in Puri have their own beliefs & concepts which if you question, you would be jailed. No one can do anything is the saddest part of this.

You can pose this question once again, after you can tell me, what it is like to be a real Hindu?

If you want to save Narendra Modi's Hinduism then you are doing an exercise in futility. If you are sincerely concerned about the Hinduism that Chaitanya Mahaprabhu practiced, then I will be privileged to reply to you.

I understand that english isn't your native language, but you can do yourself and all of us a favor by stating clearly and simply what you are trying to get across to us. As for Hinduism being taken over, it might happen, but either way, that would not tarnish the ideals of Hinduism, only the ideals of the people that take it over.

people who are getting converted are not dalits or poor class people , even well educated and highly intellectual people accept Christianity, if European countries has to accept Christianity that does not mean they were illiterates or down cast people, bcoz when a person reads bible and understand how great the word of god is he feels that something true in it. just read this " Love your enemies". no religion teaches to love u r enemies, that's why Christians do not attack back on those people who attack them when they are missionaries (so many people have given their life, their family in becoming witness to Christ).
Bible (new testament) does not teach to kill the evil people to uphold the justice.

The present offspring of true Hindus is completely unaware of basic Hinduism, fully influenced by western culture and their religions. When they fail to face and defeat them, they start critising real Hinduism and preach to change this centuries old Hinduism, for their sake. Hinduism has a great history of thousands of years. Despite religious invasions of Muslims & Christians upon India, true Hindus remained in Hinduism. Hinduism is absolutely unchangeable. Instead of changing their thoughts and ideology on par with Hinduism, they want to alter the skeleton & body of Hinduism to suit with religions.

A Hindu is born to Hindu parents in Hindustan (India). No Hindu can be without a caste. Castes cannot be changed by any means; they are by birth.

All the Indian Central and State Govts. laws, rules, orders, regulations and all the judgements of the Supreme & High Courts always confirmed that Hindus' castes are unchangeable and are by birth only. People unware of Hinduism and influenced by other cultures/religions shout & cry that Hindus' castes are changeable; they conceal the true Hinduism, Indian laws, Courts' judgements, etc., yet cannot fool the other any more. The CASTE column always appears in each and every application form prescribed by government institutions & offices.

Hinduism is not a religion. It is a culture, custom, tradition, way of Hindus' lives in Hindustan (India). It is claimed and insisted as such by all the well known Hindu priests, scholars, intellectuals, books, scripts, the Ruling Party BJP & Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal, the Indian & International strongest Hindu organisations RSS & VHP, each and every Hindu, etc.

Hinduism consists of four varnas (categories) and thousands of castes therein with different Gods & Goddesses for each such caste. Hindus castes are not equal. Hindus' worship and prayer is the job of their caste, they are born in by nature. Those not included in any of the said four varnas (categories) are untouchables ie worst and dirtiest than dirtiest animals. All Hindus always belong to their birth castes only. Castes are absolutely unchangeable. A Hindu attains perfection (moksha) by attending the job of his caste, HE IS BORN IN BY NATURE. If he adopts any other job, he is a sinner. Only Brahmins are licenced to read, study, self educate, recite sacred words and verses, attend temples, be priests, etc. If a Shudra (4th category-varna) listens the vedas and sacred verses then boiling lead is to be poured into his ears, if looks at them then red hot rods to be inserted into his eyes, if recites them then his tongue is to be cut, as taught and guided by Upanishadas. These Varnas (4 categories) are taught in the Holy Bhagavad Geeta, Verses 40-47, Chapter-18, and are not man made to be eradicated or ignored.

A Hindu may embrace and convert to any religion and remain Hindu by nativity. Hindus have no DOs and DONTs; they are liberal & broad minded. There are no requisites or conditions to remain a Hindu. A Hindu born to Hindu parents in Hindustan (India) will always be a Hindu even if he denies & rejects Hinduism; believes & prays (or not) to a different God every time, etc. The only way to renounce Hinduism is to embraces a religion & to convert as a Jew, Christian, Muslim or Parsi, as per all Indian laws. Hinduism respects, tolerates, accepts and facilitates all religions and never had any enemity or hatred. The ancestors of most (over 90+%) of Indian Christians and Muslims were Hindus.

During the past few decades the knowledge spread very fast. People got education and studied in depth. Education and knowledge could not be concealed from those who were restrained earlier. After knowing the realities and facts, many people overlooked, ignored and rejected their past customs, traditions, cultures, rites, rituals, beliefs and faiths. They were attracted by those who treat all equally with due respect; who had definite specific rules of life, etc. They could not be deprived of their fundamental birth right any more.

If one likes Hinduism, he will be welcomed in Hinduism; or else he is at liberty to quietly quit Hinduism instead of trying to tarnish the true Hinduism by suggesting amendments, alterations, modifications etc. in Hinduism to compete with Islam or Christianity.
