is it best to take medicine for herpes outbreak.. or do you need it if its not causing pain?

I'm having an outbreak.. I just want to know whether or not i need to take medication to get rid or it. Or should i let it go away on its on.. IF i need medication.. is it the longer i wait the more damage it can cause to my body.. or does it affect my body at all?

A herpes outbreak doesn't "damage" your body at all. Of course the outbreaks are very painful and irritating, but they heal with or with out medication.

Not everyone is able to afford or get medication for herpes. If they can't afford the medication, they basically have to tough it out until the sores heal. Not everyone has the luxury of seeing doctors or having a CVS on every street corner.

If you have medication though I would definitely take it. Why would you want the outbreak to last any longer then it needs to? The medication can help speed up the healing process and make the outbreak go away much sooner.

Well i cant believe your not crying in pain... unless your a guy then i dunno.. go to a planned parenthood clinic if you dont have insurence they will give you some Valtrex [acyclvir] and the leasions will dispear... take it daily if you never want another outbreak..... or just take 1 GRAM [ not mg] daily... it will go away on its own, but very slowly..

yeah go ahead and pop the blue bill u dont want it to get worse im going through a damn aoutbreak right now too damn i hae this ****! i got one then another one just showed up today so yeah go head cause they will come back to back you will probably get a new one everyday if u dont take it sometimes i just take it so it can stop i just got diagnosed 5 months ago and i hate taking pills so thats why i dont take mines every day
