are they really that ignorant? when vegetarians and vegans tell people the reason they are what they are, (they can't justify the killing of innocent animals) , meat consumers make an excuse "oh animals eat each other so why can't we"? which makes me wonder how ignorant they can be , animals dont have a choice, they have to each other, but we do so we can choose to be pro-life with animals and not contribute to the slaughterhouse..it's like cannibilism to me

You have made a decision to not eat meat. That is your right. However in the process you have also villified anyone who has not made your choice. You stated "it's like cannibalism to me". That's simply ludicrous. Eating an animal is not cannibalism. You may not like it, but don't start making exaggerations to support your choice.

To a person who has chosen to be a vegetarian there is no way to justify eating meat. And anything a non-vegetarian says will simply be dismissed. Instead of explaining your reasons for being a vegetarian, just say that it's a choice you decided to make and leave it at that. By telling someone that eats meat that you just can't justify the killing of innocent animals you are challenging their beliefs and they will respond with whatever excuse comes to them first.

I personally think vegetarianism is unnatural, but I respect you right to make that choice. But I'm not going to apologize to you for the fact that I enjoy meat, that's MY choice.

Animals kind of do have a chioce whether or not they want to eat meat. That's why there is carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores. Lions, for example, were raised to hunt and eat meat. Another example is giraffes, they are herbivores and eat leaves. We've eaten meat since back in the hunting and gathering time. It's been instilled in us to eat meat. Now that the food industry has become more advanced, more and more ways to cook fruits and vegetables, and making tastier and heathier lifestyles has become more popular. It's just a persons choice whether they eat meat or not. It's not right or wrong to eat meat, or be vegetarian. It is mainly what we were raised around and what was available.

To each thier own.

I say if you want ot eat meat, knock yourself out.

If you feel eating meat is a horrible practice and you prefer not to partake , more power to you.

I'm not ignorant on where the meat I eats comes from, which most of it does come from the animals we've raised and slaughtered ourselves. We don't keep them locked up in tiny cages and beat them or abuse them.

Granted some comes from other resources but I am knowledgable on most of thier practices and I still choose to eat the meat. So call me cruel or inhumane if you like Angel but it is not ignorance my dear....and if God chooses to punish me for eating meat then what will be shall be....

not all of us who eat meat believe the torture of animals is O.K.....I don't attend circuses for that very reason, I'm an advocate for spaying and neutering your animals, I despise trophy hunters and think animal abusers should be shown an eye for an eye.....I DO care about defenseless animals and at the same time I do CHOOSE to eat meat....you may see that as hypocritical and thats your choice to do so...but thats the beauty of our world we can disagree and yet still co-exist

Unless of course your a wacko psycho, which I don't think you are

:-)

The problem is people get off on thinking they know what is best for others.

So if i stop eating steak, how much longer will I live? Can't answer that can you?

If I become a Vegan tomorrow, there is no guarantee that I will longer or if a Vegan becomes a carnivore there is not assurance they will die tomorrow.

Common sense isn't common!

Meat-eaters are not ignorant. Just because you cannot justify the killing of animals, doesn't mean someone else sees it this way. Sometimes people forget that not everyone sees things from their perspective. People do not need to justify themselves for eating meat.

Thats exactly how I feel. They have to eat eachother to survive, but we can survive without the meat.

Because it's an easy justification for them. They are willfully ignorant. They don't want to care, and don't want to know where their food comes from, because it might disturb them. I'm reading "The Omnivore's Delimma" right now. I think it should be required reading for everyone.

You have every right to your way of life, just as others have their right to theirs. You and your ideas are no better then they and their ideas.
