The best way I ever heard it put was in a movie called "Phenomenon" with John Travolta and Kira Sedgwick, Forrest Whittaker, Robert Duvall.
Robert Duvall plays a doctor in this movie and he is pissed off at the podunks in a local bar for dissing his buddy-"George"-John Travolta's character. He is listening to them and finally looks over and says to the biggest dummy of them all and says (paraphrasing here )
Doc--So Baker, how are you and Lisa doing.
Baker--Not great Doc, I guess we broke up.
Doc--Oh, that is too bad. Did you ever buy her chairs Baker?
Baker--Wow, Doc is really Drunk tonight.
Doc--Ya see, George is really sick and he's got a woman who loves him and is sticking by him. He bought her chairs Baker...he bought her chairs.


Kira Sedgwick made these aweful chairs from old wood and grape vines and John Tavolta loved her at first sight and because of that he loved her chairs that she was selling at a local hardware store...he bought all of them..not to impress her--she didn't even know he was the one who bought them..., but because he loved them even if no one else did because they were part of her.

So, dude, buy her chairs.
