If they develop warts from their HPV then they can have them treated just like a woman gets them treated.

Men can also develop penile and anal cancer from HPV, but this is EXTREMELY rare.

There is no cure for HPV though.

This is an excellent question. Unfortunately, if you are a carrier of the HPV viruses that cause women to develop cervical cancer or pre-cancer, there is no way as of yet to eradicate this virus. If you are a carrier of types 6 or 8 which cause external genital warts, you can be treated just like female patients with aldara cream or certain cryo (freezing) procedures to remove the warts. Once you have the virus, it is part of you forever and can be passed on to any sexual partners.

Hopefully, the new HPV vaccine will soon get approval for use in similarly aged young men who are often carriers of the virus. As of now, there is no reason the young men can't receive the vaccine, other than the fact that there is currently no FDA approval - it is in the works though!

Good luck, be safe...

none.. sorry. well i have to say, if you are concerned that your mate will get it since there is no test out there for HPV for males condoms is the best source. Now if you are talking about gential herpes then not having sex is the best way to prevent that. HPV AND GENTIAL HERPES ARE TWO DIFFRENT THINGS!

HPV can cause cervical cancer. There is no link to HPV and genital herpes a woman can have genital herpes and not HPV.

No treatment is completely satisfactory; relapse is frequent and requires retreatment. However, in immunocompetent people, genital warts may resolve without treatment. Before topical treatments, surrounding tissue should be protected with petroleum jelly. Patients should be warned that after treatment the area may be painful.
