i want to know as much as i can about this how seriouse what my son can eat and cant eat dose he suffer ? i know there is no cure but i want to know everything he needs blood transfussion every four weeks he is one years old he dosnt eat much he but he looks healthy to me so how can i know what is happeing to him and when it happens with the blood and iron plesae

Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder where the body produces less hemoglobin. Hemoglobin helps red blood cells carry your body's oxygen. Low levels of hemoglobin may cause anemia and severe anemia can damage organs and lead to death.
