Yes, here in Germany dog owners who don´t pick up the poos can be fined 40 Euros. And the public also reprimands them if they see them trying to get away with it. There are bins in all the parks and on some streets for the poo bags (called doggy bags) to be discarded.

And not just now it has always been a shame and a disgrace!
I always carry poo bags with me and still remember with horror the time my puppy was very ill all over the pavement - totally liquid - and I just looked and thought what do I do now?
(Luckily a house owner saw me and offered a poo bag, I explained the problem and it was not the bag that was the issue - he donated a whole roll of kitchen towel to let me clear up as best I could - and THEN let me put the whole lot in his bin - some people are truly wonderful!!!)

Totally agree!!! Not just pavements but in the park as well, I remember the days we used to roll down the hills now my daughter cant do it for fear of being covered in dog muck!!
Where I used to live there was a green out the back with a slide and I used to regularly watch a neighbour leaning on the "no dog fouling" sign whilst his dog took a pee over the slide and dumped on the grass!!

It's the old age pensioners who are the worst, they are quick to moan about the youth of the day but seem to think it's OK for their darling doggies to mess in public. If they loved their dogs so much they'd let them cr4p in their garden. There is an old man who walks his dog and he drags it along as it is cr4pping, this is right outside a school, I reported him and gave address but he's still doing it. Makes me so angry.

It's an even bigger shame, when you step in it. No I am not one of those people. I have a pup who is just 8 weeks old. He's only been out of the house twice, but both times I've had a rubber glove and plastic bag in my pocket

I know what you mean.
I take my son to school it is all the way down the path YUK!
you have to keep maneuvering your kids around it. My neighbors dog keeps doing it all over my drive.
I buy these

these are very cheap & you get them on ebay for a small delivery charge, a lot of people think Y should they pick it up, but if your dog done it in your own garden you would pick it up wouldn't you?

I know, the woman who lives next door never walks her dog she just lets it roam around the cul de sac shtitng every where. Then when my kids play out they walk it through the house. Would it be exceptable for me to go and curl one down on her drive way? I think not. They shouldn't have dogs.

I agree. This is my ultimate pet hate
And not just the pavement. A walk in the country or the park turns into an edgy trial of shoe roulette. It can simply ruin your day.

For the record I ALWAYS pick up my dog's poo!
We live by a canal and there are a lot of narrowboats that are moored up full time. One guy has taken to making flags out of cocktail sticks and neon coloured post-its saying "Thankyou selfish owner for letting your dog grace my doorstep" and sticking them in any turds left outside his boat!

I'm the owner of two shih tzus and I pick up wherever my dogs go. I wouldn't leave it lying in my own garden, so I wouldn't subject anyone else to it. Unfortunately there are many dog owners out there who are not to considerate and scrupulous and they give the rest of us a bad name. I agree with you - sadly there's not enough fines handed out to those who will not comply with the regulations.
