By not socially responsible I mean if where they were destroying the environment when growing tea, the local communities not benefiting from tea growing e.g. farmers in Kenya, Tanzania or India. Would you buy the tea if you knew that some of the profits will benefit the poor, help with cancer research or provide health care for aids patients in Africa? Please help me find out whether you mind if Lipton is a socially responsible product. Thanks

I pay close attention to the "social responsibility factor" when purchasing anything & it greatly influences my buying behavior. I much prefer to spend my money on locally made products or those that have the least negative impact on society & the environment. It's not that hard to do and well worth the effort!

Not everyone can AFFORD the "most responsible" companies.
It doesn't make one a bad person, it just means one can't afford to pay the prices.
Do YOU buy 100% from "socially responsible" companies? If you do, then how, pray tell, do you get around without using any fossil fuels?

American Express may be in the top 100, but they screw businesses out of money every year. They take 6 months or longer to pay, and a lot of hotels end up writing off their Amex charges as a loss, BUT the customer still pays Amex for the charge...
Office Depot... Most expensive and least customer service of any office supply company that I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
The Gap... Expensive.

I would.

I have a moral problem buying tea, anyway, with the number of food-miles on it! I still do, tho', although it's Twinings Earl Grey, because they don't grow it locally!

Have you asked them? I don't have a problem with a company making a profit, either. It would be nice if, alongside that, they had a social responsibility policy as well, tho', wouldn't it?

I don't like Lipton tea anyway. It gives me an instant headache as soon as I drink it. I'd rather have Jasmine tea. It's much milder, taste better and it won't rip your head off.

Even though I am a long time consumer of Lipton products if they were socially irresponsible it would affect future purchases.

From a Canadian.

Lipton Tea is NOT tea.

Horrifying to look at it less alone drink it. It is probably the worst tea on the market.
