I have the 4805 model, which I really like, and the
bulb is about due for a replacement. The newer
IN72 model is less than I paid for the 4805.
I project about 12 feet on a white wall and it's max.
size is 109 in. Just wondering if anyone has got
a bigger image from the IN72.
Thanks a lot...

There are some suttle differences between the IN72 and 4805. The IN72 has HDMI, quieter and low throw ratio. SP4805 has high throw ratio and Faroudja processor. I am still a bigger fan of Faroudja than Pixelworks or Texas Instruments, when it comes to video processing and deinterlacing.

1.77-2:13:1 - SP4805
1.76-2.12:1 - IN72

Therefore, the SP4805 will be able to deliver the bigger image than the IN72. If you are ready ot invest in a better projector, then invest in a true HD projector. The IN72 and SP4805 are still 480p projectors.

Also, for larger images, you want to look at the throw ratio. This is what determines the maximum image size.

The 4805 has a MUCH better video scaler inside itself than the IN72 model...It'll even make your VHS look almost Hi-Def...The 4800 has an EVEN better video scaler than the 4805...I've tried 'em both...See for yourself.

(But if all you're going to be watching is HD content or your PC, the IN72 will look better than either of those models, hands down)

Hi.The INFOCUS IN72 can display an image up to 12 .8 feet
The recommended retail price is $999.You may be able to find a discounted one if you want to. In my opinion this is a much better projector than the 4805. Hope you get one.
Cheers,.
