I have to say that as a Catholic I believe that the Mother of Jesus is trying to tell the world something very serious because She has appeared countless times on earth especially in the last 150yrs or so; some of the apparitions have given very serious messages for the world especially those at Fatima in 1917, I think that although Protestants have a big problem with all this and cannot accept this easily it would be illogical to limit what God can do and dismiss this type of phenomena
Of course there have been false seers and apparitions too and this is why the church proceeds very slowly and investigates every possible fact, this seems to be the case for Medugorje and although this started in 1981 it still has not given full credit to it .
I have been to Medugorje and although it is a very beautiful and prayerful place I do not accept that Mary is appearing there and that it is a pious fraud that certain interested parties have kept going..
Having said this I would point out to those who always look for scripture to explain away the role of Mary that not everything is dependant on scripture to the extent that we can limit or dismiss the reality nothing is impossible to God,it would indeed be a shallow mind that decided otherwise.

the bible says nothing at all about the virgin mary being able to see us, hear us, or speak to us. the catholic assumption that mary is ''the mother of God'' is based on two verses, john 19:26 and 27, in which Jesus tells His beloved disciple john to take care of mary. that's all it is. maybe mary can hear us, maybe she can't. the bible doesn't specifically say. it DOES say that the only mediator between God and man is Jesus. i mean no disrespect in saying this. it's just that i have learned to read the bible and test every church doctrine so i will know what the truth is about His Word. focus on the Word, which is flawless, and don't be afraid to go against man-made, traditional interpretations thereof.

Jesus never said anywhere that Mary would be spokesman for him once he went into heaven.
but he did say, "I am the shepherd of the sheep. and those who are the sheep hear my voice, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow."

but as the Father said, "this is My Son, hear ye Him." i only listen to the voice of the good shepherd.
