Have they ever asked you to relocate to where they are? I know this sounds stupid. I had to ask it cause I was told that this person offered them big money to become partners with them in some kind of business and promiced safety and assured employment , not only for the spouce but the teenage children too. How can anyone do such a stupid thing? Placing their family at high risk and maybe to never return but in only caskets back to the USA.... What do you all think of this and why? Please no bashing. The stupid questions are the ones not asked and I had to ask this for some research and responces. Thanks for your time and please continue to keep this war situation in your prayers. God bless and peace.

I've never heard of someone being allowed to take their families into a danger zone. There would be no accommodations for a family down range, such as no schools, no family support advocacy, WIC etc. That would be stupid for someone to consider bring their family down range!

There is a a story of a military spouse who took a job with one of the Gov't contracters who were in the area where her husband was deployed to, just so she could be near him. They were forbidden to do so. they literally had to leave the country on vacation in order to spend any time together.. and they were living 5 miles apart. The ONLY reason they saw each other on station is because an article was done on them and the media brought one in to see the other. It is expressly forbidden by the UCMJ to have spouses deployed together, even if one is a civilian.

as for kids.. wouldn't even be allowed in the country.

A military member CAN NOT bring there wife over here (Iraq) wither or not they pay for it out of there own pocket. I can not speak for the contractors on this issue

HOWEVER a married couple can be live together as long as they are on the same "base" and have permission from both on the solders chains of command. I know of a few solders who are living with there spouse over here.
