I agree with the others - Vista has been such a disappointment that I am going to move over to Linux for good (and I've been a Windows fan from W95 days!!!) Windows XP worked fine, but there are too many bugs and hardware issues for me with Vista. Maybe in a year they'll have ironed them out and it'll be worth a look. All vista seems to have that XP doesn't is the Aero animation thing or whatever it's called. It looks cool at first but I haven't used it since. Summary: stick with XP, move to Linux or wait a year!! :P

Vista as of now still has all those bugs around that needs to be fixed... and most of the games are still not available to vista... incompatibility... and the price is quite high too... and there are quite few adjustments too... product compatibility like routers and usb and bluetooth would also be limited...

Suggestions... why not wait until there are sufficient games and applications available, and when computer prices are down and so are the vista's prices... and wait then when all are well and fixed like the service pack 2 of XP... and when all have the vista already... because some documents made by vista cannot be played in other computers meaning you can't flash your project in school unless it's vista or you cannot play your presentations in meetings unless it's vista too... see trouble some...

If we get the question down to bare basics, my vote would go for Windows XP.

XP is time tested and is now a very stable system with software and hardware working. Vista is beautiful, but it s too fresh to be really tested, and has a lots of compatibility issues.

It will be fine after a couple of Service Packs.

So, for now, XP wins.

XP is WAAAAAY better! I had XP on my laptop and then decided to install Vista since it was the "NEW" Operating system...let me tell you that it was a VERY BAD decision.....Here are some things out of MANY I disliked....Vista is extremely annoying and prompts you for a yes or no question twice in a row EVERY time you want to move a file or folder to another location. Lets say you want to move a file you just downloaded from the internet to your desktop, so now you want to organize it to a folder......well, vista will say "do you want yo move this file, yes or no" and then when you click on the yes, again it will say "are you sure you want to move that file?" Now imaging doing that over and over after every single file...

Another annoyance is, say you are saving multiple files from the internet, and you want to save them to a folder....well, unlike XP, Vista tells YOU where to save them, rather than you! It's like the Vista wants the computer to tell YOU what you want and what to do rather than the other way around!

Say you want to save a picture to a certain folder...well after browsing to the folder you want to save them to, and you save it, you have to do it all over again EVERYTIME you want to save a file.....with XP, it remembers where you saved last...not so with vista, you have to click a bunch of links and folders every single time......VERY ANNOYING!

I can go on and on writing about how crappy vista is, besides what others have already mentioned about the lack of support etc.

After many headaches and anxiety, I just uninstalled the crap vista is and installed XP back....

If only linux or OS-X was as supported as XP, I'd switch to those in a second......
