God is omnipresent. That includes in food. In another sense, to Christians, God is nourishing to the soul and is present in communion or eucharist. Of course if you believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, that is the most edible god you ever could slurp.

It is called the True Presence, which is attained in the most Blessed Sacrament of Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion). Jesus said "this IS My body.....this IS MY blood" He used the word "IS," not "this is 'a symbol' of my body, etc."

If you want the answer to questions like this, I suggest you read John chapter 6. Jesus states plainly, "....unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day." (John 6:53,54)

This is a literal statement, and to achieve this we need to have priests, and to have priests we have to have Holy Orders. It is called the dogma of transubstantiation. I suggest you or anyone interested look into it. Just understand that Jesus meant this LITERALLY, if He didn't, He would of stopped those who left Him because of this declaration and cleared things up for them, like He did with Nicodemus about being born again.

This is why the early Christians were wrongly thought to be cannibals, which should be a strong indicator to all who call themselves Christians and do not believe in the dogma of the True Presence.

God is edible in the sense that She is the source of life, and life must be taken to sustain life. Animal or vegetable, it doesn't matter, you have to kill it to eat it. Vincent is right. We pagans are honest about it.

It's not sense. It's senselessness. Some people also know it as Catholicism. The pagans are at least honest about it and call it cannibalism. Either way, the result is the same.

Dear Mr Artistic I think you are sucked in with this God thing bigtime. I believe you feel Him niggling around you but at present you are in denial. After the storm there is calm and a soft breeze will follow. you'll see.

Peace

Living Waters and the Bread of Life. Amen!

Jhn 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Jhn 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
Jhn 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Jhn 6:57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
Jhn 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

There is such a thing as making your stomach your god.

1 Corinthians 11 shows that those who make themselves sick, weak and tired over the Lord's Supper brought it on themselves. "29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep."
