1 Samuel 8:7 - And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
1 Samuel 12:12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.
Isaiah 43:11 - I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
Zechariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ***, and upon a colt the foal of an ***.
This is what a lot of people miss in reading the scripture is that it is obvious that the Messiah is the savior bringing salvation to all peoples, including the gentiles, and that God alone can be the savior.
The Messiah is the one God of Salvation, born of a woman, the Branch of Jesse, and is known as the Son of God for this reason.
Try actually reading the Bible, it would do you good.
For example, if you had read the Bible you would know that the Messiah rose from the dead and lives today.

there are 109 prophecies that accurately predict the coming of Jesus in the old testament. the odds that the description of the Messiah in only 20 of these prophecies alone are less than one out of one hundred million. i have no idea what the odds are that He would match the descriptions in all 109. here are a handful of those prophecies if you want to read them for yourself:
*psalm 2:7*, isaiah 7:14, isaiah 9:6, isaiah 53 (the entire chapter is super important in many ways, but one of the most fascinating is that it predicts the crucifixion, more than 400 years before crucifixion was invented by the persians, and about 700 years before Christ was crucified by the romans), psalm 22 (the entire psalm), micah 5:2, daniel 9 (predicts the number of years it will take for the Messiah to be born by the ''27 7's''), zechariah 9:9, zechariah 12:10, etc, etc...
someone has mislead you about the new testament. it was completed by about 70 a.d. and canonized by about 330 a.d. the gnostic "gospels'' which forms the basis of ''the da vinci code'' were written in about 390 a.d... maybe that's where the error is.
if you DO want more from the new testament, peter, paul, john the baptist, john the beloved disciple (two different 'johns'), mark, matthew, ananias, stephen, and a whole slew of others said Jesus was/is the Son of God. so did Jesus, Himself, as well as satan.

Well, it'd be kinda hard to answer your question without quoting from the New Testament (which, by the way was written within a few decades of His death - though, granted, it wasn't assembled until a few centuries later), simply because that's where it's stated (from a conversation Jesus had with His diciples, in Matthew chapter 16). The New Testament is the part of the Bible that specifically identifies Jesus Christ as being the Son of God (the Old Testament does not specifically mention the name Jesus).

Your are answering your own question, he is the son of God, he also is GOD, the last 3 years was the years when he spread the good news of the gospel, if you cant let people use the new testament then you wont get any true answers, the bible is an accurate account of history of Christainity, it is the word of God, Jesus often states the God is his father, that he is the son, and Mary & Joseph were told this is the son of God,
You seem very spectical, you ask a question but do not want to know the answer, I suggest you reread your bible, you dont even mention the old testament there are many references to Jesus the messiah coming and what he will be doing on earth,
Have faith,
He who acknowledges me before men, I will acknowldge before my father

If you're going to just toss out the entire N.T., why even ask the question?
God calls Jesus His son. I'm not sure how many times, but he does it once when Jesus gets baptised.

The new testament confirms what the old testament said. Read. The whole bible is proof. Prophesying his entrance into the world was fullfilled in the NT. The only one who can foretell of anything so far in advance is God. They said he would enter through the gates riding on a donkey.

You are ignorant of the Bible that is why you do not know Jesus Christ.
Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
There are many more verses in the bible that says Jesus is the Son of God.

We also know that hundreds of Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled by Jesus' birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection.
Jesus said himself that he was God's son. One of, if not the, biggest reasons he was killed. Besides your talking his public ministry, its not like people were hanging out knowing it was his time so the cameras and media could be there to get the exclusive.
