Absoultely nothing - the two of you shared a special time of your life together, so pleasant memories are to be expected. Enjoy those good times when you are having a bad day - but realize at the same time that this was all in your past.

Being stuck in the past will drag you down in the present - and make your future bleaker. Live in the now, but never forget your past.

This is true of both first loves, as well as the person you gave your virginity to - and generally applies to both men and women.

Track her down and see if she is single. Better to find out than spend anymore time torturing yourself. If by some miracle she is available, you're only cheating yourself and her out of time that could have been spent together.

He should consider what he projected of himself onto that first relationship. What of the relationship was real, and what was imagined? He should consider that what we see in others belongs to ourselves and what we saw in a past relationship also belongs to us. What truth is there in that belonging?
