Not only can a Christian be wrong, that is the very basis of the confession that makes one a Christian. In other words all Christians are wrong by definition, only there are quite a few who have never owned that truth.

We crucify Jesus, day by day,
In the things we do,
And the words we say.
His Body, the Church laid out
Upon the cross of the world;
We drive wedges, sharp and cruel,
Not merely to affix the corpse thereto
In caricature of execution, redemption's tool,
But to sever the limbs, break bones in two.
We see atonement, purchased thereby,
Only applicable to our particular crumb
As if the whole loaf were not sanctified,
But only "the elect" for whom He died.
In our perfection we deny
Both benefit and necessity
And allow no grace but what we mediate
Loving our Lord, while our brother we hate.
If only Peter, more perfect he,
And Paul less irascible he might be
Each an apostle fit for Jesus' choice,
But neither these days would find voice
In a church ruled by image instead of Lord,
Innocent of need for living Word.

Dear Tonisz,

To be a Christian simply means to follow Jesus. Not every person who has made a decision to follow Jesus has gotten there in the same way. At some point to make a decision to follow Jesus you had to have realized that there was something wrong with the way that you were living life. So to even become a Christian - i think someone has to recognize first and foremost that they have wronged God and wronged others.

As far as theology goes- i think Christians are always learning and contrary to popular belief Christianity is not a blind faith without any substance and not everyone is "brain-washed" by the church as people would like to think. I've known many Christians (myself included) who did not grow up going to church and have a solid intellectual and experiential basis for knowing God.

Part of being Christ like is being humble and honest with yourself and i find that i am often wrong- and it is only the kindness and patience of God's forgiveness that helps me to grow and lean upon God for his righteousness.

Kindly,

Nickster

To know God/Jesus like a true christian does, is to know Jesus is the Way, the truth and the Life. Therefore, we can know we are right. It's not about us, but about The Lord. We give credit to the Almighty, not ourselves, so it's not some kind of an ego trip. And if a christian were wrong, what have they lost? If an atheist is wrong (which I can know they are), they have all to lose. So, my being a christian is a win win and an atheist is a lose lose. Sorry, don't mean to offend anyone, but this is the truth truth. God bless

A few years back I asked myself just that very question and decided that Yes, I was wrong. I was living in a bubble defining all of life in the narrowest of terms. This is not what Jesus came to teach. Now I have peace and self respect because I know another face of God. This God/dess is The Creator of universes and has not condemned me to hell for daring to think outside the Christian box. I came here to live a life of love, not fear.

If a Christian cannot accept the possibility that he might be wrong, then he is in a bad fix. He needs to reevaluate himself. Everyone is wrong at one time or another, many times. The best thing is to admit: "I am wrong" and get on with it. It lets of a lot of stress.

The only perfect one is God.

I would say the short answer is yes, but the truth is they need to stay together and never even think of it to keep the group strong. It is interesting how christians will block out other points of views...you would only do this is you were scared of the real truth. That being that they most likely are wrong and would be a lost soul without their story and book.

I accept that possibility. I ask "what if" on a fairly regular basis. The fact that I'm a Christian doesn't mean that I've shut off my ability to question. It's the "what if" factor that keeps me reading and researching instead of remaining stagnant in my beliefs.

A true Jesus follower shouldn't even think about this question because if he is truly save by Jesus he has experience the love of Christ in his heart there should be no question about it, there is a relationship between them this is not about faith it is knowing that he has truly excepted Jesus, and he abodes in that person, christian means to strive to walk like Jesus did, this not a fleshly statement it is Spiritual.

One of the hallmarks of being a true Christian is to test all things. God commands us to "contend with him" and "reason with him". The very nature of contention and reason makes us question, as Job did, and many other biblical characters.

But as far as the very core of Christianity is concerned, i.e., Jesus Christ was the Jewish Messiah who came to save His people, and then the Gentiles, by dying for our sins, is an axiom that is not refuted by true Christians, by definition.
