if the person already has a high body fat percentage then the consumption of too much fruit could impede fat loss.

fruit is full of sugar so if you dont use the energy up it will make you fat, but it also has quite a bit of fiber in it and that helps you go to the bathroom and pass things quicker so that usually keeps you from getting fat. its a toss up.

If you're just starting out on your slimming plan, it's important that you can see what a wide variety of produce there is for you to try.

P is for Plums and Prunes

As prunes are effectively dried plums, we can categorise them together here to talk about their nutritional benefits. They have a high concentration of phytonutrients. The two types of phytonutrients found in plums and prunes, neochlorogenic and chlorogenic acid, are effective antioxidants, particularly for a key free radical called the superoxide anion radical, which can be very destructive to the cells in your body. Plums have also been shown to improve the absorption of iron, because they are rich in vitamin C.

Q is for Quality

When you're choosing your fruit and vegetables, take the time to pick the best quality. Check them for bumps and bruises and for signs of over-ripeness. Eating your fruit and vegetables when they are in their best condition will ensure that you get the very most from them.

R is for Romaine Lettuce

You may think that lettuce has nothing going for it except its low calorific value, but certain types of lettuce are worthwhile including in your slimming programme. Romaine is one of them. It is an excellent source of vitamin A and also contains plenty of vitamin C, folate and manganese. It is also a good source of fibre, which means that it is a great salad leaf for your blood pressure and your heart.

S is for Squash

Squash is one of those groups of vegetables that we are really only just coming to terms with. For a time, butternut squash was the only variety widely available, but we can now get a range of different types of squash, all of which are good for our slimming objectives and our health in general. Squash contains beta-cryptoxanthin, a carotenoid which is found in many types of vegetable including red peppers, corn, oranges and the squash's cousin, the pumpkin. Studies show that beta-cryptoxanthin can help to reduce the risks of lung cancer. It is also a good source of vitamin A, potassium and fibre.

T is for Tomato

Tomatoes have been a favourite food in Britain for many years and their health benefits are becoming clearer all the time. Much research has been done on the substance Lycopene, which is found in tomatoes. It helps to protect cells against damage and has been discovered to play a significant role in reducing the risk of cancers such as prostate, lung and breast cancer. Its size, taste and texture make it an ideal addition to any slimming eating plan.

Unlikely you'll get fat eating fruit if it's fresh fruit and you're eating it plain.

Depends on the fruit... Eat papaya... don't eat grapes... case by case really. If you must have grapes drink dry wine (if your old enough). It's great for your heart.
