Football (what only the United States seems to call Soccer) is a perennial favorite.
Kite flying is a national pastime. Kite "battles" are also frequent. http://www.afghana.com/Entertainment/Gudiparanbazi.htm
And Buzkashi, where several dozen riders on horseback fight over a calf carcass, is an ancient sport and a special Afghan favorite. Kind of like Formula 1 and the Kentucky Derby rolled into one. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1562909,00.html

Kite fighting, but like everything there it's dangerous. I think Pakistan banned kite fighting because people were getting decapitated, even recently.
There is also a sport that's a cross between polo and rugby where they drag a dead goat around on horseback.
Soccer is popular.
