"When you see a Christian, you see someone who is desperate, and most of the time angry."

There, I made up a sentence too. Does it sound any less stupid than the quote above?

No need. I read the answer in question.

The person was an ex-atheist. He lived a very lonely life and probably needed something to fill that void. Since he admitted to being very lonely, his family and friends were not enough for him. He found that friendship in his religion.

He is quite wrong in his absolute statement. He claims that all atheists are alone. I prove this statement wrong. I can find other atheists who also disprove this statement. He speaks from his personal experience and thinks that it should apply to everyone. Great, so can I say that all Christians are murderous wife-beating bigots? I've seen one, so it must be true for all Christians.

I can't comment on other atheists and their unhappiness, but I am certainly not unhappy most of the time.

In fact, I was more unhappy as a Christian, because I was worried that I wasn't good enough for God. I also thought that my loved ones who passed away were screaming in agony in the afterlife. Perhaps that person is happier as a Christian; I certainly wasn't.

One of those who states this is "me." Why else would a person who does not BELIEVE waste their time in a SECTION which they know has nothing to do with their BELIEFS. And I have a "doctrate" in psychology, so don't say I don't know my STUFF............ For atheists to immerse themselves in displays which I consistantly read on this forum, what "other" evaluation can there BE outside that they don't' have a LIFE and the lonliness and it's frustrations drives them to egotistically put down those of faith on here. One way or the other, they have their "purpose" and it's pretty evident what it is, at least to me anyway........I don't drink, and it would be like me voicing myself at a bar putting down people who drink simply because I don't. No different when an atheist hangs around on R&S simply to degrade others..............

Well, maybe they are going from personal experience with athiests. I have met athiests myself. I wont go so far as what they said because I have not met every athiest in the world, however the ones I have met seem to be lost. I couldn't imagine going through life not believing in a God because I can't see him, otherwise do you believe that is air you are breathing?

Hey, fits my description but then again I am anti-social and a loner. But every Atheist is different, I have met more high spirited Atheists than depressed lonely ones.

I've never come to that conclusion about any atheist. What I do know is that there are a lot of people who think they know the meaning of happiness, but find out what they base their happiness on is only temporary.

I'm no atheist, but i would like to answer that :-)

Most atheist are probably happy with things in life (and there are so many things to be happy about, especially if they're rich and famous).

But I think that that comment you read refers to life after death: believers in God are so sure that after death there is hope.

We're all alone - sometimes we are just lonely in company. Do you know anyone who shares everything? Oh and btw it takes the most faith to be an athiest - you don't have something/one else to blame for everything
