As long as you puff a cigarette for any reason, you are a smoker.

Well it has gotta do with the oxygen consumption..im a smoker, but after a long sleep or a day without smoking, the first drag of cigarettes still makes me dizzy. When you smoke you can feel the heart racing cos of nicotine and all the craps inside that agitates the blood circulation, thus the sudden change (increase) in blood pressure would make you dizzy. The reverse is the same. When people faint, they usually feel dizzy beforehand due to the sudden change (drop) in blood pressure, making them dizzy then faint. Its the biological adaptation system.

You feel dizzy when you smoke because cigarettes are poisonous. They constrict your blood vessels, which reduces the oxygen getting to your brain, causing dizziness. That's not the worst of it. Studies need to be done to prove this, but I can personally attest to the fact, (at 36 years old) that smoking when you are dehydrated can cause TIA's (mini-strokes) which can lead to major strokes, even in young, healthy people. I've had several of them in the last few weeks, and my doctor had to put me on an expensive medication for at least the next six months. Please, believe me when I say it can happen to you. It's miserable, and scary, and I wish I had known when I started smoking how dangerous it really is.

You get dizzy from the nicotine and other toxins in the cigarettes. Your body has not developed a tolerance for all those toxins that are in a cigarette.

That is your body telling you not to smoke. (It is a common effect from the nicotine to those who don't smoke)
