I think there is a God but I don't think there is anyway to prove it. Nor do I feel a need to prove it.

For a christian, proving the exsistance of God means saving people from burning in hell. If you believe in a God, then don't your believe that he must have had some purpose for putting you here? Believing their is a God is not enough on its own. A television can be a God. Believing in the one almighty God his son Jesus, and living your life for him and serving your purpose here on earth is the key that unlocks heavens gates. Doing the opposite is the key to unlocking hells gates. So why are christians so adimate about proving their is a God? Because we want to ensure that we can help as many people make it to heaven as we can.

I do not wish to live an empty life of dishonesty.

As a result, I will not live by rules that are supposedly dictated by a god that isn't real. Or even a god that I can't know. Allah has certain rules that I do not wish to follow. Jehovah has certain rules that I do not wish to follow. The Hindu gods have certain rules that I do not wish to follow.

Naturally, if any of these gods exists, then I would have no choice but to live my life contrary to my desires.

If someone can prove the existence of God, then I would live life differently. Until then, I will continue being a moral, supportive person living my own life.

Now, you may not care if I don't change my life. In that case, then you have nothing to prove. You have your belief, and I wish you well in it.

Usually, it's the other believers who make an issue. They insist--no, they demand--that I change my life to fit their beliefs. Well, then, they better prove that their way is better.

And no theist has ever done that. I'm still waiting for proof that I should change my life to fit in a religion.

I would actually like it if someone COULD prove God exists. I used to be a Christian til I got turned off by the intolerance of other beliefs in our society. I am now an agnostic, but only because I have serious doubts about God's existence. I just don't see how God could allow all this bad stuff to happen without reaching down and slapping somebody upside the head saying; "That's NOT how I told you to act!!!!"

I believe it's important right now, in this contemporary culture, to prove that god exists because religion is very pervasive, in everything... our money, our schools, our government. When our politicians want to use their belief in god to make laws (e.g., abortion, cheating on your spouse because it's "immoral", etc.), it is important to prove that such a god exists.

When I say the pledge to my country, I must invoke a god in whom I don't believe. When I pay for goods with my money, I must use money with the name of a god in whom I don't believe. I'm asked almost every day what church I go to, why I'm not a christian, etc.

If we could prove, once and for all that god does or doesn't exist, all of these things would not apply. And in a country as diverse as ours, it's important to prove the existence of a god that the majority is saying we must ALL believe in.

And because one cannot prove a negative, it's incumbent upon those who believe to provide empirical proof using the scientific method, not a banana.

Why should you believe in a fantasy? That is the reason why atheist wants to prove the existence of god before believing in it.

For sirpogi, I challenge you to pray to every other gods in other religions until they come to your heart and then you will know ..... what kind of logic is that? Self hypnosis isn't proof of god, just prove of delusion.

I hope you do not end up like the nutty pastors I saw at some charismatic churches that goes "Yes god, I hear you god.... I am sorry god, I will inform these lost sheeps, god .... and yes god, we will pray to you god, and yes god, we will......"

There are more senses than the ordinary sense of vision to prove that there is a god. If you feel there's a god somewhere or within yourself then that could be a proof. It's spiritual so it is difficult to prove.

Xd? has it exactly. Between individuals, it isn't a big deal at all. But religious people started making everything about not just God, but their God. Which forced people who disagreed to argue with them. And when the first side says, "God says X in the Bible, so we must do X", then the other side will inevitably have to address the validity of the Bible. And so on.

You don't feel a need to prove it, because you believe it to be true.

For someone who believes differently, proof is the only thing that will sway them. You must provide evidence that the object of your belief is more correct.

Case in point: if you believe you can fly, great, since you don't need to prove it to believe it. If you want me to believe you can fly, you'd better start flapping your arms (or use whatever mechanism that would work) and move into the air.

There isn't. I don't believe that God exists, but since those who do believe have a strong say in how I live my life, I'd like to prove that he doesn't exist so they'll leave me alone.

I think there is no need to prove the existence of God. The more relevant question is do you believe in Life. If you believe in Life, you believe in God. Because God is the process called Life. It is for us to create ourself in grander version and greater vision of Who We Are. Life is a process, a field of experience for us to experience more joy when we becoming more of Who We Are and when we know that there is no limit of Who We Are. There is no need to prove the existence of God because we created as exact image of God.
