from what I understand the Jews persecuted Jesus because he provided teachings that permitted people to live and grow spiritually outside the church. Like today, the churches of the past offered no true room for spiritual growth. Just a bunch of mysticism coupled with fear and jurisdiction. He spent his life telling people to seek the lord outside of the walls of the church. To abandon the empty bureaucratic methods of the church and step into the true light of the father. Spiritual Growth. I think the modern christian church has entirely missed the point of Jesus life, as they emphasis his death over his miracles and teachings and turn it into some path to heaven, missing the point of John 3:16 entirely. Metaphors are taken literally and mistranslated into bizarre confusing perceptions of reality that don't work. I don't think much spiritual improvement can occur in a Christian church. I do however believe that modern Christians are dedicated and passionate about what they do. But given the history I think its a confused and empty religion.

I would say that Jesus' Crucifixion has rarely affected the church. Most Jews still don't view Jesus as a Spiritual ground breaker and they still don't really teach compassion love and tolerance. Again I don't think they are bad people. I believe there Beliefs ensure good moral, social and financial wisdom but these things can be acquired without a church. true spirituality doesn't happen here either.

Mecca I cant really give an opinion of the Muslims since my knowledge of them is meek.

Just about everybody was shocked and confused. The Jews who became Christians were expecting Christ to rule as if he were a typical earthly king, so they did not understand his death until after his resurrection. The Jews who rejected Christ assumed that the manner of his death proved that he was not the Messiah, since they also expected the Messiah to take power in an earthly sense. The Muslims think of Christ as yet another prophet who was killed by his own people, so they too fail to understand the significance of Christ's sacrifice. The only way to fully comprehend what happened is to grasp the reality that Christ is divine, that He came from the Father to open the door to heaven for us - and that door is the cross.

Jesus is a Jew, a rabbi, believed by Christians to be the Messiah, labeled King of the Jews by the Romans.

Jews believe Jesus was executed by the Romans. Jesus did not fulfill the requirements of the Jewish Messiah.

Christians believe that Jesus lived, was executed by the Romans at the request of the Jews, and that God raised Jesus from the dead.

Muslims believe that Jesus lived and Allah spared Jesus from suffering death.

Answer: Crucifixion has little affect on the Jews; a major belief with the Christians; and a prophet who Allah spared.

There were no Muslims at the time of the crucifixion. Mohamed didn't invent Islam until the 700's.

It didn't effect anybody at the time, especially Muslims because Islam was not invented until 600 years later.
And Christians and Jews didn't hear about it until 30 years later.

to IKB and Mr OCTOBER -
Mohammed didnt "invent Islam - He was a leader. The worlds greatest leader.

To Samantha -
Islam is only (just above) 14 centuries in its final revealed form. Theoetically, the concept of "GOD IS ONE AND MUHAMMED IS HIS MESSENGER " existed even before the entire universe was created by God. You may laugh at that but look into the scriptures - Its true !

The Jews were very much affected and have repented nailing Jesus on the which caused his death. Anyway, that was written in the prophecy that Jesus will suffer for our sins by that way. The prophecy was fulfilled.
