These are called "honor killings". These have occurred in the USA, UK, and other Western countries as well.. She is right to be afraid. Just google "honor killings" and educate yourself... On her wedding night, if she doesn't bleed then her husband might let her secret out....and divorce her dishonoring the girls family in the process...

in some countries/societies, the bride has a little bottle of animal blood to use to "show" her virginity ... and everyone knows , but nobody gets bent out of shape.
part of "the game" ... if she's careful, noone will ever know.
sounds like her society is a bit uptight, but just gotta make a little "sheet-blood" show with some fresh stuff.

depending on how liberal her family, her soon to be husband and his family are, that could be a really big problem for her. The marriage could be cancelled, or she could be disowned. Or, he wont notice, and shes just scared for no reason. its hard to tell without more details.

Tell her to cut herself right before they have their wedding night. A lot of Muslim women do it to ensure there is blood on the sheet to show the family.

well you see, muslims are supposed to be virgins when they marry, because if they have sex before marrage it brings disgrace upon their family, and if they lived in Iraq or Iran they could be outcast or even killed.
