I have to say I am no longer a Christian because of other Christians - and also because I thought it through and realised it made no sense at all. However ,it was rigidity and intolerance and the refusal to discuss things sensibly outside of their box, that eventually opened my eyes. I am actually grateful for that because my path now makes sense and gives me peace and self respect.

Firstly you do not have to debate and thrash out the Bible to people who refuse to listen. An answer should be done in mildness and sometimes silence is best.

Secondly, even the people who defend the Bible will not adhere to it themselves or they are selective to the truths of the Bible. Often they prefer the doctrines of men over the evidence of scriptures and refuse to budge. Not suprising non believers won't budge either.

Thirdly, you should set the example. Bragging, heated debates and rubbing people's noses into the scriptures is condescending, unproductive and everyone is allowed freedom of choice to what they believe. Even Jesus Christ recognized that.

Educating others or defending the Bible or faith with your side is fine as long as it is done in a respectable way. And importantly in selective of the question you answer.
People who put silly answers like that are defamatory to God's good name are not worthy of answers but corrective answers to genuine questions or to correct a misconception or falsehood is okay done in the right context. So many times I have seen professed christians attacking each other with no respect to others faiths, why would anyone want to take them seriously either?

Simple answer - YES. Unfortunately so are most other organised religions. The very old religions are the best but they are adults now - the rest of the religions are still going through their teens so to speak.

Yes, many of you are at least that bad, and some are even worse. The behavior of preachy Christians merely drives people farther and farther away - that's one reason Christianity is declining around the world. Satan would be very proud, if he existed.

one looks for blame elswhere, but Christianity has lost its intellectual foundation. Names like Newton, Leibniz, Galileo, Descartes, etc., et. al. have fallen by the wayside for tent revival anti-intellectualism. It is easy to blame the TV, the culture, the democrats or Rosie O'Donnell. But basically Christians have forfeighted their minds to laziness ... sloth is amonst the deadliest of sins, so I remember ... sad indeed.
