I know that in Catholicism, that sex comes AFTER marriage, this part i understand.
but, is it ok to have a boyfriend or girlfriend? and is it OK to kiss and hug your boyfriend or girlfriend, and do nothing more than kiss and hug????

I hope it's okay, or I'm in big trouble. I'm Catholic, and as far as I'm aware, the Church doesn't teach that people have to live like prudes and never touch one another. Believe me, I kiss and hug my girlfriend. The Church has prohibitions against sex before marriage, but if people never kissed and hugged before that point, how would they even court each other in the first place? Affection is nothing to be ashamed of.

Nothing wrong with showing affection. You do need to establish some healthy boundaries to protect the respect for both of you. A good rule of thumb is don't touch anything a bathing suit would cover.

Instead of asking 'how far can we go' you should be asking "how close can we get to God."
Yes, you can have a boyfriend when you are of the right age. You should be talking to your parents about these questions, or a Church elder.
