I mean, a lot of them feel hurt because that could link us (and especially them) with the monkeys. But if God created humans and monkeys as well, why is it worse to be a monkey than to be a human? Who are we to tell?

They believe that evolution negates the necessity of a god.

And they're right about that.

I am not Christian but your questions is so interesting and I just couldn't let it go just like that. As for me, I didn't take that personally.

To me evolution theory is just an opinion from a great guy without strong evidence. Even among scientist, they still debate about it. The theory is not concrete enough.

Is it worse to be a monkey than to be a human? I definitely think that human is superior than monkeys. It is us human who is bless with wisdom. Worse or not is really up to the individual.

I don't think that being a relative of a monkey is the issue. In fact, even us believers will have to admit that God used the same basic plan throughout his creation. He just tweaked the DNA a little in each case. Makes sense to me. Why recreate the wheel every time? It is probably more that they see evolution as an attack on the validity of God. If they have the Holy Spirit living within them (as do I), they know that God exists and should not be offended that some others may not believe. It is to be expected.

A. Because if Evolution is true, then the phrase "God make humans in his own likeness" will be false, since evolution will most like changes ones' look to suit the environment.

B. It means that current humans will be more advanced then the original humans.

C. If Humans and Apes were the same family, it means that humans are merely another species which evolved in a different manner and are not god's chosen people to control the animals and everything else.

Not all christians take it personally, but the only way I know how to explain it is this...

It questions the foundations of our beliefs, and because we believe them to be absolute truth...it kind of sends a "does not compute" message when the subject of evolutionism is brought up. It is not so much that we hate the thought of once being primapes, but it takes away the uniqueness and purpose for being created humans with souls and free will.

I don't think it should be taken personally, to me it is someone else's way of trying to explain life...we all have different view points. Just because I don't believe it, doesn't mean someone else doesn't whole heartedly think its the truth. The only thing that can change that is a real experience with God, no one else.

I use to think about this ? alot, kind of off the subject but hey, In the Bible...Did Jonah really live 3 days in the belly of a whale, with God sustaining him. Or was he dead, his body preserved and brought back to life when he was spit up on dry land? There are Christains that believe both, ....to me...isn't God big and bad enough to do either one?
Hope it helps.

I don't take Evolutionism as an affront to me. It's not a matter of taking it personally. But I do know the difference between an animal and a human being. And I do know that I don't see animals evolving into human beings. So in essence, I really don't regard Evolution at all, it's a theory that has no factual basis, so I don't waste my time arguing it.

Aye.. Many fundamentalist Christians interpret the Bible literally down to every last word- which may seem ridiculous since there have been so many translations and revisions that have been done not to mention the fact that the Church selected precisely which books to include in the Bible... Well anyways, I guess if you take this logic, then God literally created Adam from the dirt and made Eve by taking a rib out of Adam and then breathing life into them

Evolutionism is not the real bugaboo. It is secular humanism and atheism. Evolution has led to a philosophy/worldview that rejects the supernatural (if monkey can't see, hear or speak about it ... it don't exist).

Personally I am ambivalent to evolution. I think science is way overrated because facts are facts, and facts are filtered through fallible human opinions and biases ... I mean c'mon, "scientists" used to think the moon had a 4 foot layer of dust on it .... they are not perfect.

I'm a Christian and I don't take evolutionism personal.

I don't feel hurt when someone tries to explain why we derived from a fish.

It is not what you are told, it is what you believe in. You can't make me feel any certain way, I have to somehow let what you say effect me. It is a state of mind if a Christian takes it personally.

As for me I don't.

Because 2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The bible is the authority in all, and the bible says that in the begining God Created the heavens and the earth.

Plus when you get down to it and start asking the hard questions, evolution just does not make much sense at all. you want logic and reason. Building=Builder / Painting=Painter / design=designer // CREATION= CREATOR

once again, someone feels that it is necessary to divide the line into either or..i am a christian..i do see that there had to be a relationship to the dinosauras ..why is it necessary to disbelieve both can co exist..no one was there..so to say one or the other is right is preposterous..open your mind to believe there is a god and that the building blocks of life started with him, no matter how it happened..if there was a big bang then that equals let there be light..how can YOU dispute god being able to do both.....if not more ??
