Hmmm. I was turning around on a dirt road in the snow when I didn't see a ditch on the side of the road. My front wheel drive car when clunk, right into the ditch -- the front wheels weren't even touching the ground.

Cell phone dead. About 12:00 AM. Snowing.

A farmer in a truck saw me and spent quite a while pulling me out. I tried to pay him, but he wouldn't take my money. :)

An ETX 90 scope that I got to open as a birthday present when we got to our motel room in Li hue, Kauai, for a week of vacation in Hawaii. I had no idea what we were carrying on the plane to Hawaii. It was so great. I spend a lot of time looking at the stars in the clear dark nights of that island, and the optics were so awesome I could see all the colorful sea life under the water. It was a great toy and I still enjoy it today, 5 years later.

mine was this toy that you get from that picking thing. you know how in 'toy story' that have that machine that picks up those toy aliens? well, instead of aliens, they had a number of different toys. i was at this amusement park with two of my cousins. i was about 16 at the time. anyway, while i was waiting for them, i saw this guy who had just got a toy from that machine, and was being bullied by this group of guys over it. i felt sorry for him cos i could see how badly this guy was trying to get this toy back. (this guy looked like he was 12 yrs and the bullies looked about 14, 15 yrs). in the end, he was able to get the toy back, but as soon as that happened, he came straight over to me, handed the toy over, and said 'this is for you'. i thoguht that was soo sweet, and just about the nicest gift i've ever received as it didnt matter that it was a toy, what mattered was that it came from the heart. in terms of my possession and not really a gift, i just happened to find it lying around, i managed to get a 1 cent coin. 1 cent coins are very rare in Australia as they don't use them anymore, so that was very valuable to me. the fact i had a 1 cent coin and others didnt. tragedy occurred when last yr i went to a rock concert and lost the coin along with my wallet and I.D. card and shirt on my way home in the cab. the most hilarious gift i have ever received is a condom. i received it going to a gay club for a gay friend of mine. us girls that were straight found it was getting boring, so we decided to leave and just walk through the city. as a gift for us attending, we all got condoms, and a little book entitled 'the little black book', which talked about STDs. i knew my dad would find the condom upon looking in my room, so i threw it away and kept "the little black book" as you couldn't tell what was inside

Once, out of the blue, a kid who worked for me (he was about 16 or 17) looked at me and said “I know you’re a good person.” Seriously! Okay, that was more of a compliment than a gift, but it was by far the best compliment ever. It was so genuine and sincere. It was just what I needed to hear. I almost cried, but I choked it back.

I'm sure this'll sound superficial. I was on vacation with my family, and I'd been admiring an antique pearl ring in the hotels' jewelery shop. My birthday was three months after we got home, and my husband had the ring for me. That made me cry for a good hour.

A wonderful wife and seven special children who all know and love the Lord.

EDIT: It is sad that some people give a thumbs down when someone shares what has brought so much joy into theri lives
simply out of ignorance. Maybe they never had a family that loves one another and always looks out for each other.

A visit from a new pastor at my Mom's funeral, even though the funeral was out of town, I didn't tell him where it would be, and he hardly even knew me. I've forgotten a lot of things people have done for me in the past, but not that.

My greatest gift was 3 healthy children born in 2 minutes from eachother from my beautiful and longsuffering wife. They are fat, healthy and happy ... life is good.

My dad got me a pair of headphones when I was a teen - which means for once he had listened to something I said.
