Nothing out of the ordinary there. New model year cars typically hit the showroom in Aug or Sept in most cases. So you can buy a 2007 in 2006. The model year will stay in production until May or June when the auto manufacturers shut down the line to re-tool for the new models. So a 2007 model year car would run in production from about July 2006 to May of 2007, give or take a couple weeks on either end.
Nor does 120 miles mean anything. Could have been test driven a few times or been a dealer swap.

So whats his problem? 120 miles is normal. most likely the car has some test drive miles on it. It's hasn;t even been through a tank of gas yet. there is no need to deal with the dealer. There is nothing wrong. Most times dealers will have one model that is for test driving only. It's possible that what this model was. no harm no foul.

the 120 miles were most likely demo miles. and they do make cars several months before the year starts. if it was made in 12-06 and he bought it in 5-07 then it sat on the lot several months. chances are you may not have any recourse. except to take it back before 3 days are up and get something else.
One thing to remember before you buy a auto of any type, do your research ! also check out any auto thoroughly before buying it! you even have an option to have your mechanic look at it before you buy it. better yet ask your mechanic what a good vehicle is to buy. after all he works on them so he would know the problems they will have.

no biggie...
my new car had 156 miles. they could be test drive miles, or depending on where you live they could be dealertrade miles. like many have said the model year typically changes in the fall, so the production date isn't really a worry. some cars just don't sell as quickly, we've had cars on the lot for over 200 days...depends on color, options on the car, location of where the car is parked, quantity of that exact car, etc.
tell your friend to enjoy his NEW car!

could be, but where did he buy the car? In some states, the day you take it off the lot, except for lemon laws, it is final. it also could be that people just didn't like the car. when I got mine, there was only 32 and it had been at the dealer for two months.
