you can do them on the same day as long as you do weights first and cardio afterwards.

You really should do weights first. The reason is, if you do cardio first, this utilizes much if not all of your blood and muscle glycogen stores. This is energy your muscles would have normally used for weight lifting. So, when you go to lift weights in this state, your body will utilize protein for energy instead, and the protein it will use is from your muscles. So in essence, you're defeating the purpose of weight lifting by doing it after cardio.

So, if you must do them on the same day, you should do cardio after weights. For maximum benifit, have a small fast uptake protein/carb supplement between the weights and cardio and wait a few minutes before starting - it would be a good time to do some deep stretches. Doing cardio and weights on separate days would also be a good way to go and would optimize both types of workouts.

well what i do is , Cardio first to get my heart weight up then weights, if you have your muscles working at the same time as your hear rate being up, you tend to burn more calories. Atleast thats how i understand it

I have learned through SparkPeople.com that you want to alternate your workouts so you're not super sore or worn out. I do cardio on mon, wed, fri and strength training on tues, thurs.

go ahead, your already pumped up, so lift. Just don't try maxes. Just do a good workout. Concentrate on an area (chest, or legs, etc.)

if its nice and cold dont wait if it hotter try to wait 15 min before to let your body cool off a bit
