there is a law that you can't eat chicken with a fork in my hometown..... some laws are ridiculous and have no reason other than who ever wrote it is against them.
reason can stand anywhere there is solid ground but, god speaks to the heart. Love is irrational

Oh Happykid, please, come now, let us reason together. As Christians we are told to obey the LAWS of the land. Pot is illegal. Until it's legalized, we should NOT smoke it, period.
EDIT - Fine, then get it legalized. But I hope you obey the laws of the land until then. Are you?

Oh, and about the "it's natural, it's from the earth, it's a plant" argument - ARSENIC is natural and from the earth too. Should we smoke it? Mercury is natural too, so is lead.....how many poisonous mushrooms and other plants are other there on the planet, hmm?

I can not say whether smoking the green herb as you put it would be considered sinful or not...but to a real Christian, it would be totally unnecessary. If a person is devout in their faith, God takes care of anxiety, depression, illness etc.

I have come out of a lot. I was a drig addict for a long time. I have been in prison, gangs you name it I have probably done it. I was saved three years ago, and my whole outlook on a lot of things changed. First of all your very wording gets you in trouble. You said you were devout in YOUR faith. I am sure if you are devout in YOUR faith, you would be ok with just about what ever you wanted to do. The bible shows us that we like to justify our actions, because we like to think of ourselves as good people.

Pro 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

We like to think of ourselves as pretty good people, in pretty good shape. In reality this is not true, because we will not be judged by our standards, but God's, and the bible makes it very clear that he is looking at our hearts.

Let me ask you this. Do you judge the character of someone by what they say or do? It is very easy to say that you are committed to God, it is a differant story to actually be committed to God.

I feel I fail as a christian sometimes, because of some of my actions. I am not perfect. I am not better than non-christians, because if I got what I deserved I would get hell.

People say well God put weed here, so that makes it ok. Who is to say it is here for us. There are things out there that if you eat it, it will kill you, but it is perfectly safe for other animals. Just because it is here does not mean it is good for you. I am not saying you are going to hell just because you smoke weed either. You are however setting a very bad example, and become a stumbling block for young Christians and especially non-believers.

It doesn't say not to in the Bible. Plus God said all plants were good. Plus we know historically the Jews used it, and it's likely it was in the holy annointment oil. So I don't see any reason a Christian shouldn't use it, provided they weren't gluttonous.

Edit: Last, then LEGALIZE IT! It's an unjust law.

Really Christians shouldn't be smoking anything.......... after all the Bible says your body is a temple. If you know something is not healthy for you, you really shouldn't do it.

I know that can span across many spectrums such as eating too much, etc. But the Word of God does say to take care of your body.

Please don't think I'm judging you cause honestly I could care less I'm just letting you know what the Bible says about it.

Yes. A Christian can do anything. That doesn't mean that it's good for them. I don't because I turn paranoid. I hate that feeling. So I don't do it. I have Christian friends who do it, and at least one of them seems to be tuned in.

Herb who?DD statements are a giveaway. When people insinuate that no one has ever been hurt using pot, it is that very act of dishonesty that demonstrates their unwillingness to give a fair ciritical look at the issue. Do they honestly want us to believe no one ever anywhere has ever been hurt using pot? I guess the legislators just outlawed it to be jerks. Thanks I needed a good laugh.
