He knew you would say that. Look here:
"do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:8-9).
God is eternal. He can step into history when he wants and it won't be long at all according to his watch. We just need to watch for Him, be ready, and maybe watch what we say regarding Him.

Jesus does not know when he is coming back. He is waiting on the father to tell him. My preacher at church gave a good sermon over why God could possibly be holding out on coming back. He asked the church " If Jesus had come back 10 years ago, how many of you wouldn't have been ready?" A lot of people in the church raised their hands. It is Gods desire to have as many people as possible go to heaven so if he is holding out, maybe it is to save you! Who knows. The day will come though and just hope you are ready. Who knows it might not even happen until I am a granny, or long dead and gone. The fact of the matter is all of us has a ticking clock above our head so don't wait around to get right with God because who knows when your clock will run out.

Nope. It's only been a weekend for God. He hasn't been gone long.
3First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." 5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
8But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
10But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.[a]

Jesus says that we don't know when he will return. The book of Acts explains that part of what must happen before he comes is that we must get the word out about the Christian message. We have to fulfill the great commission.

I would say it is very likely he is not returning. Taking into account honestly what a shaky record the bible is (if it can be called a record), it is difficult to say if he even was the messiah. There was a show on Discovery awhile back where they found what they believed to be Jesus' tomb. Not only were there remains, he was found buried with Joeseph, Mary, Mary Magdalene, and a brother of his (observing correct translations). It is possible that Jesus was just a prophet, and as such, would never be able to come back.

Oh, He will come. Like a thief in the night when no one expects Him too. That's what the Bible says, so you can completely cancel out anyone telling you when He will come because no one knows the hour or the day or the year.

What is 2000 years to someone who lives forever? It is not even equal to a grain of sand on a massive beach. Jesus will return when he chooses to do so. Although I am not one to try to name a time...I suspect that it probably won't be much longer.

That's only 2 days in His time. I think it's great that His mercy is so evident, He's giving us every chance to make the choice to follow Him. He doesn't want anyone to perish. There are still parts of the world where the gospel message has not reached. God is giving them a chance to hear it first. Thank God for mercy!!

He has not watch or human time frame for that matter. God and Jesus are on perfect time. We, as humans need the information constantly handed to us. There is nothing out of the reach and power of God. Do not doubt the Holy Creator and Savior Himself!!!
