Stop acting like it's in the Constitution and stop acting like it's about things like prayer in schools. We know about the Inquisition and that govenment form of murder, and that's why it was best to be separated. the Roman Catholic persecutions and the Anglican influence was an affront to religious freedom. Our Founding Fathers were living in it. They didn't want to stop prayers in schools anymore than they wanted to stop praying themselves.

Remind them of what one of our greatest founding fathers said.

"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burned, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make half the world fools and half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the world"- Thomas Jefferson.

Then maybe they will relate that statement to the establishment and recognition of any and all state religions.
