Adolph Hitler was not a "devout" Catholic. He was excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
Automatic excommunication happens when Catholics commit certain offensives. This happens as soon as the offense is committed.
Adolf Hitler committed the following offenses resulting in automatic excommunication:
- Apostasy - the formal renunciation of one's religion. Hitler specifically rejected the Catholic Church, as well as Christianity in general. He described himself as "a complete pagan.”
- Heresy - a doctrine in theology, religion, philosophy, or politics at variance with those of the Catholic Church. Nazism is definitely heretical to Christianity.
However anyone who truly repents of their sins before they die can be saved. This is something between Hitler and God and we will never know on this side of heaven.
With love in Christ.

Some Christians do not keep in mind Roman Catholics to be truly Christians, and those are most often protestants. But pretty much, Roman Catholics are Christian however now not all Christians are Catholic. Roman Catholics are lead by means of the Pope in Rome. Protestants do not appreciate the Pope's authority and are equipped into 1000's of exclusive denominations. The Eastern Orthodox(Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox) additionally don't appreciate the Pope, despite the fact that their teachings and ceremonies are similar to the Roman Catholics. The Eucharist is meant to be Jesus's Body and Blood, this can be a Holy Sacrament, an overly essential facet of Catholic church rite. I do not consider in it. I can type of fully grasp the suggestion however I am now not Catholic or Christian. Never be fearful of asking questions of your priest or fellow parishioners.

Your statement is incorrect. Hitler was not a devout catholic. If he were, he would not have initiated World War 2. He may have written about catholithism, but that doesn't mean he was practicing the religion. Repentence is a turning away from sin and aknowleging that it is wrong. But that isn't the whole thing. He would need to recognize and admit/believe that Jesus died on the cross for his sins. I seriously doubt that he had come to that point in his life before he put a bullet through his skull. And to answer the "hell because you are catholic" thing... You can be catholic and belive that jesus died on the cross for you. If so' does their denomination doom them to eternal damnation? The biggest problem with the catholic religion is the Mary worsuip. Nowhere in the bible does it say to ask mary to forgive you of sins.

Anyone can repent of their sins and be forgiven, even Hitler.
True repentance leads to salvation for the unbeliever. It is a gift from God, free to whomever will accept it. Adolf Hitler was not a Catholic as you say, he only befriended the Vatican for political reasons. He also befriended Russia and later betrayed them. Hitler only wanted cooperation, as long as it was in his best interest to do so. He was bent on conquering the Vatican and the World. I am sure those who are saved, will be amazed to see people in heaven they had written off many years ago. The opposite is also true. There will be many "missing" from heaven, that we thought would be there. No one automatically goes to hell because they are of any particular denomination. Church is only where we go to honor God and have fellowship with other believers. Our heart is where we worship. Anyone who believes that God Almighty came to this earth, as Christ Jesus, repents of their sin and accepts Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, is saved.
God Bless You....Peace.

That's between him and God, in truth. The same as it is for all of us. I know that Jesus is the way to heaven, and trusting him is the only way in.
I personally think that Hitler didn't have a snowball's chance in hell to escape the wrath of God. Was he a devout Catholic? I heard that he didn't write it. I heard that there was a Jesuit priest that wrote it. Be just got it from him, wither by deciet of because it was given to him. I believe the latter.
Besides, I do not think that all Roman Catholics are going to make it in, neither do I think that all people calling themselves Christians are going to make it in.

If (and I truly believe it would be a really BIG if), Hitler had truly repented, he would be in Heaven. Jesus died for the sins of everyone. The only exception to never being forgiven is if you commit the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

He killed thousands of Jews - men, women, children ... and he suicided, I doubt if he's in heaven. Even if he repented before committing suicide, he cannot be in heaven. Suicide is the loss of hope and as a Catholic, our church teaches us that once a person commits suicide, he will never enter heaven. In addition to that, Hitler supposedly committed suicide because of his pride. He could not accept the fact that he was going to die in the hands of a "less-powerful man than him" so he just did what he did.
Maybe if he did not commit suicide and repented for his sins, he could possibly be in heaven. Even if people agree that he was a very sinful man, no one can judge him but God. Even a person who dies with one sin, he still has to undergo purgatory. A criminal who repents and has no more sin un-repented could possibly go to heaven.
God bless! Always!

As the other people have said, Catholics ARE Christians! Do not act as if they don't believe in Jesus Christ, because that is just blindness! Blindness, I tell you! Why am I being redundant? Because repetition helps with memory.
Would he have truly repented? Is it possible for him to think of killing all the Jews without glee? If it IS possible, then maybe...but come on. Why would he not feel proud of killing Jews? In his belief, he is doing GOD'S WORK. He'd be proud as hell that he was of service to God. So you really have a moot point.

How could Hitler believe he was a "devout Catholic" while practically wiping out an entire race? He was mad.
The Lord says we have to ask for forgiveness and we would be saved. And only the Lord knows if you are telling the truth so...good luck there. And FYI, Catholics ARE Christians...I know I am Catholic

When I was a Christian, it was my belief that anyone could go to heaven as long as they truly repented before death. I was told by my pastor that included Hitler.
