I've been in a pit of an unstable mentality for six months now. Ive had a complete phychological breakdown and I haven't been the same since. I was on the brink of suicide, and I read in a book I was to find God. I am very conflicted, as I came to think that I was an Atheist, seeing as things in the world just made so much more sense w/out God. Ive said atrocious blasphemies against God and all religions, but now find myself completely alone, searching and searching for a reason to keep going.. something to live for....is there a God? Does he know what I'm going through? Will I ever the confident, good sense of humor person I used to be again? Or am I stuck in this mental hell that I've created for myself?

religion is a belief system and works great for some people.

having any kind of breakdown will generally result in the person searching for meaning to their life. after all, things appear to be so meaningless during this extremely difficult time.

its only natural that you are looking to religion at a time when everything you believed in before seems now so distant and worthless. its a very obvious choice.

whatever you decide, your not going to find a miracle cure that will snap you out of this. recovering from mental health problems takes time. if you have family and friends around you tell them you need them to support you. something like a quick phone call every day, just to see how you are works wonders over several weeks. if you don't have that option, seek help through any local support groups.

you will most likely find your way, with god, or without. just don't launch into anything expecting a quick fix.

hang in there dude

Yes God can help you. The question I'd like to post to you is, Do you believe that you're still alive by your own doing? That only you can dictate whether you live or die. My belief is that when God has a special plan for your life all your reasoning is meaningless. What I mean is that when the odds are stacked against you yet you overcome the obstacles it's because it was all apart of the predestined plan of God. Our thoughts are not His thoughts and our ways are not His ways. Which means we cannot reason with our minds why things are as they are, because this is beyond us in every aspect. Thank God that He knows what we need and when we need it. If we knew in advance we would mess it up like we do everything else in our lives. See there are some experiences that we must go through in order to build the character within us that God needs for us to have. right now strength is a characteristic that you might not feel you have right now but you do or you wouldn't be reaching out for help. It takes strength to even admit what you have already. DO NOT ALLOW THESE THINGS THAT YOU'VE MENTIONED TO BE A HINDERANCE TOWARDS YOUR SEARCH FOR GOD THE FATHER. He is a forgiving God and if you so chooseHe will forgive you. God can't put you in a position of character if you don't have the character to continue to be there. you must first submit yourself to Him and then all of you're mental torment can begin to cease. Everything in life is a process and renewing the thoughts that you have towards life will need to be renewed. But first if you chose to, you must first accept Jesus into your life. If you would like to do that then I'm willing to help you with that process. Email me if you like and we will communicate like that. This is not the time to give up but the time to take a stand. I'm praying for you. God Bless You

You are right in stating that you have created the mental hell for yourself. My experience was that there is no way out without God. There is a God waitint to help you out of your pit if you will only ask him. I found 2 things very helpful, the book "Steps to Christ" and praying Psalm 51 until God gave me relief.

Avoid psychologists and psychiatrists (advise from a psychiatrist that I work with) because they will only confuse you even more and try to drug you; these drugs usually do more harm than good.

Yes. God can help you. God can help anybody. You just have to ask for it. I am here to say that there is a God. Please repent and turn to him before it is too late. God knows what your going through and he did it for a purpose. God can do wonders through you. You might not know it, but God really does have a plan for you. Purhaps his plan is to show people that an Athiest can still go to a God. That nobody can make it without God. I will pray for you and I hope that you find your answer. You don't have to change your ways to be a Christian. You just have to believe in what God said and believe that Jesus died FOR YOU on that cross on Mount Calvary. Admit that you are a sinner and confess your sins. Once you go to God, you will never be the same again.

God can help anyone who asks Him for help.

He expects us to do for ourselves as much as we can, and to use medical help and spiritual help as much as we need.

But the very first step would be to get on your knees and pray that He will forgive you for the sins that you have committed against Him.

Thank Him for the horrible feelings that He has allowed you to feel that have brought you to the point of wanting to change. You may not see it as a blessing now, but you will soon.

Then get up and act! Go talk to someone you know is strong in the faith, and begin to come back to the happiness you once knew. You can be happy again, if you are willing to do the work.

All you have to do is trust God. Trust & obey. So, repent for any wicked way. Mostly confess for not believing in Jesus Christ. Confess Jesus Christ you Lord & Savior (He shed His Blood for remission of all your sins). Believe in your heart He raised form the dead. God will see your honest heart before God.

Yes He knows what you are going through & He allows it to happen, so you are desperate to find the One who can help you. God.

I fell apart mentally, physically & soul/spiritually for 1 year & God delivered my after I found a Church & went forward and got prayed for. I was healed and could sleep through the night completely again. I was bound in my house, so finding a Church finally was a miracle.

God is with you waiting on you to call on Him. He is so wonderful and loving, He will forgive you -- only if you ask for forgiveness. He knows the inner battles you have gone thru; He was only waiting for when you turn to Him for your tears are His.

God has a purpose for you, it might be to use your own experience to help someone else going thru what you are going thru, only God knows.

He sent His only son Jesus Christ for you. All you have to do is accept Jesus as you Lord and Savior, and you can receive the glorious promises that God made to all of us. If you have a Bible, I suggest that you read the book of Acts; if you don't have a Bible here is a link for a online Bible:http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/search/?q=Acts+1

Just remember that God is always with you waiting on Him to call on Him. He loves you so much!
