Why are some people calling me a brat? Lol, im almost 19, not a little kid.
Anyway, I feel like I can't top what I did last year. I wrote my mom a long poem expressing how I feel about her, and I printed it on nice paper. I rolled it up and put it inside a glass bottle then filled the bottom with sand and seashells so she got a message in a bottle. For my grandmother, it has been her lifelong dream to go up in a hot air balloon, my mom and i made her wish come true last year. I can't make my grandmother breakfast in bed because she naturally wakes up for the day at 3:30 am.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
This is a really beautiful poem too!
Women have strengths that amaze us.
They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up for injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without new shoes so their children can have them.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!
Women do more than just give birth.
They bring joy and hope.
They give compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

You can do things to make your grandmothers life a little nicer. Why not give her a 5 minute foot massage every night...you can also lotion up her feet. Old people often have dry feet and lotion would make it feel good. To her this kind of gift could mean a lot it would give her something pleasant to look forward to every night. And it costs you nothing but love.
And your mother? why not clean the house for her, make a nice dinner for the family with things already in the house and make dessert. Then clean up the kitchen after. She will love that.

As a mother I would love it if my husband and kids would just give me the day off. I don't want to cook or clean or change diapers for one whole day. You should make your mom and grandma breakfast in bed and then offer to do the dishes and pick up around the house. Just help them out extra if you arleady do. Spend the day with them help them cook dinner. You can learn a lot from the two of them and you can have a lot of fun too.

Yea I agree with the breakfast in bed thing. That's a great thing to do and will show that you really care. Gifts are nice but when you actually do something for your mom it's just that much more thoughtful. I'm sure they understand that you can't afford much. Your time is more priceless then any gift they can receive!

Write a poem or make a coupon book of things you will do for them... like clean the garage, do dishes, etc.
If you are too lazy to do that, then just make them breakfast/brunch on Sunday... Google for simple brunch items that YOU can do. Don't forget to clean up and do the dishes too.
Lastly, stop being a brat and think of them all day Sunday.

clean the house, invite other siblings over ( if there are any) and cook a nice dinner and make one of those cards like you did when you were 5. keep in mind its the thought of whatever you decide to do that counts not how much you spend.
my son is in college and wont be coming home and he has no money except for what i give him. i will be excited if he remembers to call and say those magic words "i love you"

You don't have to be creative to write a letter and tell them both how much they mean to you. Something so personal is always a great thing to give, I know that the letters my children write to me mean more to me than anything bought at a store... Have a great mother's day with your family..God Bless you..

either make her dinner (any meal actually) or search online for something that you can email her. Not like a tacky card or anything but i found once a song that i emailed her that said something to the effect of "thanks for being my mama". I was with her when she opened it and she just started balling!! it really touched her.
for both of them though i'd go with making the meal!!! or cleaning up the house...ie. just doing stuff around the house

decorate the table with a few flowers, or what ever you can, like maybe a vase with colored water in it as a center peice..... set the table real nice, and make them lunch..... something simple...... ask mom for ideas...... but YOU do most of the cooking.... and on each plate place a promise note of a chore or something special you will do for each of them...... like, for mom, that you will clean the kitch one extra nite or 2...... and for grand ma, a back rub or a walk, just for the 2 of you........ just some suggestions.... you know them, so go with something you think each would love..... God bless
