Did you know that the genome of an onion is larger than the genome of a human?

If the "theory" (and yes, it is just a THEORY) of evolution is true, then you know that since every creature on earth shares a common ancestor that means that the genome of humans should be almost as long as that of an onion.

But it isn't. It doesn't even come close.

If you believe in the "theory" of evolution, then you believe we came from apes and because of this we inherited most of their DNA. Those apes evolved from other animals. The apes inherited their DNA from other animals. Those animals inherited their DNA from reptiles who inherited their DNA from fish, who inherited their DNA from smaller organisms.

The point that I'm trying to make is that if evolution is true, how come our genomes are so short?

Any moron should be able to see that Christianity is the one true religion and that the "theory" of evolution is totally false.

Do you agree?

First off, you don't understand what a scientific theory is, or you wouldn't be saying "just a theory". The theory of evolution doesn't in any way say that the genome of humans should be almost as long as an onion. It says nothing like that. We didn't come from apes, we share a common ancestor.

This post is either a joke (you got me) or you didn't go to a school that taught evolution.

Hold on, how much biology do you understand? Because last time I did biology (and excuse me if I get it wrong, it's been 5yrs) we didn't compare vegetable and animal because obviously being from completely separate branches of life they won't have the same, or in the case of onions and humans, similar genomes.
So essentially, all you've managed to prove is that you don't understand the scientific principles behind biology and evolution, which goes a fair way to suggesting the exact opposite of your point of view is more accurate.

I don't get your logic here. Why exactly can humans not have a shorter genome than onions, exactly? All life on Earth came from a select few common ancestors. The fact that we, at some point, took a different evolutionary path than whatever organism lead to the onion we all know and love today has bearing whatsoever on the length of our genome.

No. There are numerous factors that determine the length of the genome. Duplications are a major mode of mutation change in the genome. Because onions tend not to reproduce sexually, being bulbs, meiotic recombination does not edit the genome.

Any moron could tell you that your use of the word "theory" reeks of ignorance. Gravity is "just a theory".

Evolution is NOT progressive, if you've EVER taken an anthropology class you'd know. And evolution is the documentation of change over a period of millions of years, not "inherited". It's more like A) you have a group, B) some mate some don't C) **** happens D) those who don't die reproduce more. And that's just ONE way of happening. Which is unlike your little Ms. Garrison from South Park type theory.

You're right. Hundreds of thousands of geologists, biologists, and anthropologists with doctorates in science all over the world are "morons" for accepting the theory of evolution, which has astronomical amounts of evidence that we can see, feel, observe, and test to back it up.
You, however, are a genius for believing a story that was written in a book 2000 years ago by superstitious middle-eastern sheep herders regarding an invisible supernatural super-being who snapped his fingers and magically "created" the entire universe and all it's contents, and which has NO evidence whatsoever to back it up. None. Zilch. Nada.

The proof evolution is a false theory is that in the bible man was created on the 5th day so it wouldn't be possible for a monkey to evolve into a man (evolution is therefore false)

Just because I believe in evolution, that does not mean that I believe humans came from apes. Just because we can't see the big picture, it doesn't mean it's not there.
We are so minute in the complexity of life, that it would be impossible for us to understand everything there is to know about how and why we are here. Fairy tales don't explain anything, and those who started the fairy tales were merely trying to control the feeble-minded, and hey look, it worked!!!!

1. How do you know there was a sudden die off of the males? You don't, which makes you entire argument void, because it hinges on the sudden die out. 2. Not all evolutionary branches are successful. 3. If this species has environmental stresses that kill it, it will likely be unable to adapt due to the cloning and 100% genes coming from one parent, which means less variability for differences. 4. In your mind, do you think atheists have to explain such a thing because we don't think god snapped his fingers and everything popped into existence?

No, I don;t agree with your logic, and I'm a Christian.

The length of the genome is meaningless. There are thousands of genes in some species that do, as far as we can tell, NOTHING. Bits in the unused space on the genetic hard disk.

Besides, whether evolution is verified or not says NOTHING about the validity of Christianity.

If your Christian faith requires you to disprove evolution, please pray for greater faith.

Please also repent and pray for some love and understanding of those who are "weaker" in faith than you (the unsaved). Calling them "morons" is not very Christlike.
