I am thinking back to a marketing management class I took a few months ago. People are aware of certain brands such as Pepsi, for example. They recognize the brand, the product and the image. When the company introduces a new product people associate this product with the other products.

How many times have you heard someone ask for a Kleenex? Actually, that's a brand, but so prolific in the market it has replaced the actual name of the product, facial tissue, for many people.
