God's own testimony is in all of creation, and speaks to the heart and was created to be as a witness and for evidence of God's existence. Theres is evidence everywhere, and yet so many choose not to believe it. I don't get it.

What else could He have possibly created for a person to believe Him. He gave us the whole world and everything in it. They're still discovering more plant life and creatures in the oceans that no one has ever seen before until now.

What is it that makes it so easy for some to write God off when the evidence and His testimony is everywhere? Would someone please explain this to me, I promise I won't preach at you or anything, I'm just curious, because I'd really like to know what it is,

I can't even fathom where a person forms this conclusion from, can someone please explain this to me?

Anyone who DENIES the existence of GOD is a FOOL! That's what the book of Psalms says.
Why do these people deny the existence of the Almighty?
Because most of them went through SOME KIND OF TRAUMA OR DEEP PAIN, OR GREAT LOSS, IN THEIR LIVES and GOT ANGRY AT GOD!

Who is THE ATHEIST? An atheist is ANYONE WHO HATES GOD.

He went through a difficult and very PAINFUL experience in his life and that MADE HIM HATE GOD SO MUCH that he'd rather DENY HIS EXISTENCE!

He can't BELIEVE IN A GOD WHO MADE HIM SUFFER!

Then he decided to become AN ATHEIST. That's it.
BUT GOD IS GOOD AND KEEPS GIVING THEM A CHANCE TO COME BACK TO HIM, in spite of all the problems and difficulties they had to face in their lives.

All of the universe is a result of natural processes. It's pretty amazing, but it doesn't prove the existence of a deity.

The hypothesis that some being created everything just raises more questions. Where did that supernatural being come from? If you say it has always existed, then why is it a problem to believe the universe has always existed in some form?

Not to be unkind, but generally people who believe a deity created the universe just do not understand evolution and cosmology sufficiently. Like you, I would say "there's evidence everywhere and yet so many choose not to believe it." In fact, most Christians choose not even to investigate it for themselves. If you do, Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" is a great place to start.

Best wishes.

Note to Christians who think atheists are angry at god: That's just silly. Are you angry at the tooth fairy? How can I be angry at something or someone I don't believe exists in reality?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I have had no bad experiences that would lead me to reject god.

In fact, I was very happy believing in god, until I started to study religion. Then I realized that it's all based on made-up stories. There's no evidence for god except for old myths and people's wishful thinking.

I didn't want to give up the idea of god, but I had to accept the truth. Often the truth is not as pleasant as a fantasy.

Beauty is in th eye of the beholder; what's beautiful to me may not be to you. You can't use an arbitrary standard as evidence for a supernatural entity's existence.

But let's suppose all this "beauty" WAS made. What makes you think it could be the work of only ONE god? It takes a group of people to build a building, so, by implication of your design argument, no god could have done it alone.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is just as easy to say, "how can anyone look at the squalor of a slum, the ravages of war, the scourge of cancer, or the destruction of the hurricanes, tsunamis, and earthquakes and say God does exist."

Mosquitoes carry malaria. Tornadoes destroy livelihoods. Most of the world goes to bed hungry, uneducated, and resentful. No ladybug looks forward to the first snow. An avalanche on a mountainside can dismember a forest and its inhabitants. Streams flood and wash away entire ecosystems.

I do not say there is no beauty, but it is only because I choose to call it such that it becomes so. There is nothing beautiful that has not been interpreted by a human being. We have evolved and we grow to appreciate our home(s). Even those who live in a desert find it beautiful (even if their existence is sparse). But others will look and see a wasteland. Indeed, the only universal truth is not beauty, but suffering.

I urge you to recognize that you've been hoodwinked into believing your aesthetics are an indication of God, when in fact it is simply good fashion sense.

Once upon a time... believers of God too, believed that the earth was FLAT. When people tried to prove to them that the earth was of a spherical shape, they would deny them and told them that its wrong and its bad or evil to think of that way.

Eventually, truth prevails no matter what we think or say as nobody can monopolize over it. Truth is not a matter of belief and doesn't take a genius to know the Truth...

If you found out that god did not exist, would you still consider the world beautiful?

I appreciate all the beauty in this world...but I can't fathom how anyone would believe that some invisible being would be the creator....you do know that there were other god myths around long before your god..???

I agree with you completely, except that I believe God is female and has nothing to do with Christianity.

A person's spiritual beliefs arise from their perception of the world, along with many other factors that you and I cannot influence.

Honestly, I don't know. I've been wondering the same thing...
I think I have an idea, though.

I mean, I believe in God whole-heartedly. I have no doubt that
He exists, and I couldn't see my life without Him in it.
However, it's not that easy for everyone. Many, many people are logical thinkers. I'm certainly one of them. However, some have not thought deeply into it because they have not allowed themselves to have an open mind. They're so bent on proving Christians wrong that they fail to see what is right in front of them.
I believe that God's plan is perfect and that people see so many contradictions because we are not multi-dimensional like God is. He is perfect and so is His plan. People are the imperfect ones, and He gave us all the free agency to make our own choices in life, choose for ourselves whether or not we would accept Him and follow His laws. If God is giving us free will, and knows of our imperfections, then wouldn't it seem that in order for His plan to be perfect, it would have to be flexible so as to allow for our imperfections?
I'm not some simple-minded I-don't-know-what who follows blindly. I am a very logical thinker, and I have to think things out clearly before I make my decisions and come to conclusions...no matter what it is.
The only logical conclusion I could come to is that there would have to be, beyond any shadow of a doubt, a God who created everything. How else could everything have been formed so perfectly and be made to work together so harmoniously? How could we all have the breath of life? How could all our organs and muscles and every part of our body work together so that we may live and walk about freely? How could something so simple as sex create such a miracle as a little baby that grows and matures the way they do? How could man and nature work together so perfectly to bring life to one another (ex: trees give us our oxygen, and we give them their carbon dioxide)? How could all the plants grow and bloom and form perfectly? How could something so tiny as a seed grow into an enormous tree? How could the planets move and align just right so that life on Earth would be possible? How would it be possible for Earth to be inhabited by life...when none of the others are? How could everything be so beautiful and so perfectly formed? How can anyone look at all the amazing wonders of the universe and say that it is mere coincidence?
I once heard an astronomist declare that people say God created the universe and thus take away from the beauty of it. I think he is wrong. I think that is where the beauty lies. What could be more beautiful than a God with such artistic talents as to create this extraordinary universe with all the life and beauty and everything that it is made of and has such love for and devotion to what He has created that He knows every single one by name, and knows everything about them...right down to the number of hairs on our heads?
How can anyone logically claim that everything just coincidentally appeared out of the blue for no apparent reason and just happened to work together perfectly? That just doesn't make any sense to me. Please, someone explain the logic in that.
Also, how could a mere person be able to come up with the notion that just two things are the keys to all the law? Plus, if you think about it, all the laws given to us by God work perfectly together, and they are for the good of mankind. They are there to bring us happiness. By not following them, we only bring pain and sadness to ourselves and others. How could someone just off the top of their heads come up with something so structured and flawless as that?
Plus, almost every culture has a story about a Saviour who came to save them and teach them...all the way from the far eastern cultures to the Native Americans (which came here over 2000 years ago from Jerusalem--dating back before Christ's birth and started out not believing in God...the entire culture started out based on denying God and killing those who did, which were their own family who died out--and I know this because it is part of my Native American heritage). How could people so far away have the same story about the same person at the same time when they had no knowledge of one another?
It makes absolutely no sense to me to say that God doesn't exist, given all the evidence proving otherwise.

If you think that is good evidence for a creator, realize it doesn't prove the Biblical God. There are creation stories in every culture.

It's easy to fill in the blanks with god, but once you learn the theory of evolution nature becomes even more amazing because you realize how lucky you are to be here. It takes a while to fully understand evolutionary biology, you could probably take a night course at your local community college...

And why couldn't god have used evolution as a tool for creation?
