Well, there is no way that you can get over it, it's not something you can do alone, I know this for the fact that I have depression too, so I believe you should also see a therapist, they make you see good things you've never noticed about yourself--positive things.

I don't fight depression but I do have panic attacks. they have limited my life for a few years now and I just now realized that I am the only one that can help myself. I have tried the meds and i couldn't operate at work so i have to try and think positive about all situations to not go into an attack. My suggestion is that you try to remember that it is an emotion just like love or fear. respect yourself and you can work through it.

If you don't want to be on meds and Therapists do not work for you, then you're going to simply have to get over it yourself.
Do you REALLY want to, or is it all talk?.

Schedule & I mean write it down or program it in your computer, time to do something you enjoy at least three times a week away from apart from work & home
Take a class at a local community college or city center in something that interests you, golf, pottery, poetry writing, oragami, self defense, etc the possibilities are endless!
Good Luck!

Try to find whatever the cause is for your depression and change it.. and in the meantime look around and look for other people to do things for ..the poor the homeless, ,the downtrodden and the people that can't help themselves.. Its the quickest way to happiness to know that you did something for someone to help them today ..

I don't see that you have a choice except see a good Doctor and do whatever he/she says (including taking medication) Some of us wouldn't make it without support.
