i would say that if you invited your prom date, then definitely! especially if your a guy, because its kind of custom that the guy who invites the girl has to pay. and if youre a girl and you invited the guy, then i would think that the guy would offer to pay for the ticket, but if not, then at least pay for your own. But most likely guys always pay, some guys get mad because all the money has to be provided by them, but like for my prom, the guy payed for my ticket. but nothing else b/c i didnt want him feeling overwhelmed. =] have fun at prom!

Well, if you are a guy, then I would say that it is probably good form for you to do so.
If you are a girl, then it depends entirely on the situation. Just remember, in even the most liberated relationships, things should be 50/50. If the girl buys the tickets, then the guy best buy some awesome flowers.

No you don't. If she is your girlfriend then it will be nice if you do so but at 17 yrs old, where are you gonna get the money from? Bad enough you have to pay to go, for the tux, limo rental, etc... No, you dont have to pay for your date's prom ticket.

it matters who asked if your a dude its just commonw for you to pay if your date is not from school they you must pay!
it also matters where you come from im from california and usually we sort of trade of like the guy will pay for limo and tickets cuz therre usually like 80-100 dollars each and the girl will pay for pictures and corsages
it also depends on what kind of grl your date is if shes very traditional and like small town you gotta if shes open and outgoing she might offer to pay
basically its better of to pay yourself ...if she persists be like ok you can pay for the corsages or something

Well, you tell me. If its a girl you probally should to feel more like a gentelmen. If you are a girl you probally should have the guy pay because what kind of fun is it if you are paying for your dates intuition???

yes but if you are tight on money, you should talk to your date and i'm sure they'll understand and you can work something out. Also, if you're tight on money, your school might be able to help you out.
