That's pretty normal in this day and age.

At that age good for them that they can still do the house hold chores and keep them selves going. My kudos's to them.
How ever after age 80 I think driving should be tested with a road test every other year. I also believe heart problem people of this age should not be driving. Safety for them selves and the public.

My clientele is mostly people in this age range and the majority of them still drive. It's not all that amazing. People are younger these days. Certainly fewer of the near 90 year olds drive, but in today's world 70 is not old.

Must be pretty young to find this amazing -- or don't know many elderly females. In that age range -- these ladies survived the Great Depression -- and they are SURVIVORS -- with intellects, were always hard-working, and yes, value their INDEPENDENCE!
So no, it does NOT amaze me one bit -- but given my own age (and the fact that I'm an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree) -- I don't see this as unusual.
I'd sure like to see younger women do even half the things that ladies this age do in their Daily Lives!!!

I know a lady who is in her mid 80's and until she moved recently (her husband has died) she used to get on the tracker and bushhog her own field. She is also always on the go with her friends, children and grandchildren!
I think that rocks!!

i say give those women an eye test every year. driving at their age is more dangerous than putting a teen on the road. i don't mean that to be cruel, but it is true.

That is dependent on their overall health and mental status and whether they are currently on any kind of medication that can decrease their blood pressure or cause dizziness.

Sounds dangerous! especially the driving part, didn't you watch the south park episode, where the old people are killing people with their driving?
