Often, bumps around the hairline, on the neck and throat, and on the scalp are actually boils, not acne vulgaris. What's the difference? Well, boils aren't created the same way as pimples, and they are caused by a different bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus. I was getting some of those for a while, and I found that when I changed shampoos it helped. I think I was mildly allergic to the shampoo I was using; I use something much more natural now.

Boils due to staph can be a sign of a depressed immune system, a nutrient deficiency, diabetes, upset endocrine system, and other things. If you just started menstruating, I suggest you go get a blood test for anemia, since many menstruating women are low on iron, and iron deficiency can contribute to a depressed immune system. Good luck!

Acne doesn't care about your age and it's not caused by dirt or the food you eat. Acne is primarily impacted by four major factors:1- A hormone change that causes an increase in the production of oil from the glands.
2-the release of increased numbers of dead skin cells resulting in clogged pores.
3-an increase in the amount of oxygen-fearing bacteria building up deep in the pores.
4-and an inflammation caused by the buildup of bacteria.
One of the best ways to treat acne is to kill the bacteria that causes inflammation and clogged pores. You mentioned that it's on your head Make sure to use a shampoo that washes away buildup. This type of shampoo gets rid of oil. The one cleanser that can bring dull hair back to life by removing buildup from styling products, excess oil that clog your pores, and chlorine. You need a clarifying shampoo that will do these type of things. Other sorts of shampoos are formulated for dandruff, volume, extra moisture--which you don't need since your pores are already clogged. Make sure to wash hair twice a day. Never go to bed if hair had been applied styiling products. It's like going to bed with makeup on which is a DO NOT DO.

welcome to puberty, kid!!! your body is going through some changes as you become an adult. glands and hormones fluctuate and excess amount of body oil is produced which clog the pores , gets infected and causes zits. washing with soap all the time will help. over the counter meds work.

I suggest you see a dermatologist. There is not much you can do about zits in your hair and if it's bothering you, it's important to see a doctor about it.
