It appears as though the testing will vary according to what is deemed necessary for a particular position, and when there are openings for each position...

"The following is the information the Department of Personnel has posted about civil service exams:

"All Department of Personnel examinations are job-related in that they assess knowledge, abilities, skill, and education and/or experience needed to satisfactorily perform duties of the particular position. Based on an analysis of the job, the Division of Selection Services will determine which test format(s) are most appropriate; these can include written tests, oral tests, performance tests, physical performance tests, evaluations of education/training/experience, assessment exercises, or other appropriate selection methods.

"Accidents or injuries: For all types of examinations, particularly performance and physical performance, the Department of Personnel takes appropriate precautions for maximum safety of candidates. However, this Department cannot assume responsibility for accident or injury to candidates during the examination process."
