could it be that they are presenting arguments that they want answers to?

I am an Atheist I have no desire to prove your God of choice false.. I understand your need to be part of a group, and your shared faith being the glue that holds your chosen group together.. I respect your right to choose your religious belief.
Do you respect my choice to disagree with your choice, do you respect my belief that churches are akin to magicians fooling the audience with slight of hand and trickery.. It can be a very entertaining and compelling show but in the end it's just an illusion... Do you understand my point of view?
Tolerance of others belief goes a long way towards peace and understanding... Just because my beliefs differ from yours doesn't make me a bad or unenlightened person... I do not see you an a bad or unenlightened person... I see you as someone who believes differently than I do and that's ok... Don't tread on my toes and your toes are perfectly safe...

Crislyn; Let me tell you what you will learn on here, atheists are the crudest, rudest people you will ever meet. They detest Christians and have no interest in the TRUTH. You will soon realize these are the people who would take our right to worship as we please away from us if they could. I would never ask a serious question with the hope of getting a reasonably intelligent response from most. They are childlike and act like playground bullies.

Look, if you spend just 30 minutes of reading your own holy book than you will understand that is all the proof we need. Also, we don't have to TRY HARD is you said. There is no evidence of Jesus' miracles. Prayer has no effect on anything many studies have proven this. To rap this up in your worshiping you drink Jesus' blood and eat his flesh. does that remind you of anything, say Pagan?

1) They're schizophrenic; the contradiction makes sense to them, and 2) they're sadistic and enjoy annoying people & deriding them. They are easy to understand once you realize they are merely dogs. Man without God is a dog. Spell God backward, what do you get? Dog. That's all they are. Dogs with human brains, though not much.

Who's "they"? Not all atheists are out to prove the non-existence of deity. If they stand up for themselves when asked or when Christians DON'T mind their own business, then that's another story.
I'd like to ignore Christians. But the fact they're so damn LOUD about their religion and in many cases CAN'T keep it to themselves makes that difficult.

CITE! ... I have never, ever, ever, seen an atheist trying to even truly CLAIM him/her false, much less *PROVE* it false!
Any atheist *I've ever known* understands that GODS CAN NEITHER BE PROVEN nor DISPROVEN - this sounds like you simply DO NOT UNDERSTAND High School LOGIC!
And It's "ATHEISTS", Hot-Shot... Try a spell-checker! ... But by all means, carry on and love Jesus if you want to.

Because in reality they know there is a God and they want to be with Him, but are too scared to admit they might not be the most powerful thing in their life.

You can't prove something doesn't exist. We're trying to make you think - if something couldn't ever be proved wrong, how could it mean anything at all?
Sure, love your imaginary friend. Whatever. But don't listen to him when he tells you who to vote for - that's how we got into a war in the first place.
